A couple of years ago I was working as an IT service provider for primary schools in our state. One of the older buildings we had on our contract was mid to late 1800s I think, classic original one room village school type thing. It had the same construction method, sand and cheese. We were trying to hang a 75" smart monitor/interactive whiteboard thing one day. That was an interesting afternoon to say the least.

I have a flight case, funnily enough given the title, where the foam has got really tatty. I'm looking for a replacement for it, the grey smooth stuff, not the bath sponge stuff., does anyone a) know what it's called so I can search for it and b) anywhere to buy it from?

Iron Maiden in Bremen last night with Avatar. Avatar were good, but not my thing really, though I did know two of their songs from off the wireless. Maiden were Maiden, it's a 1980 to 1992 retrospective tour so you know what to expect. The big digital screens were very effective though. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was open air and we all got a bit damp during Avatars set.

Could be Mark Knopfler under the treble switch?

Iron Maiden in Bremen in a fortnight this evening. I'd hoped they'd come to Hamburg, but I've invited my school mate who along with me is also 50 this year (funny that!) and his wife so we'll make a weekend of it. Matt and I will go to the concert whilst the wives can babysit our littleun. 2 is a bit young still for an evening concert, but he'll get there

It's a total scrotum singing it and playing it because there's no obvious rhythm to the text. I am slowly getting there though, but I may have to rely on a Music Stand when we do it...

Peaches is coming along surprisingly well. It's still a sod with the timing but I'm currently impressed with how well I'm learning it.

And I got to rehearsal this evening and.... it all fell into place. No More Heroes was bob on, even if I say so myself.

Do I have to rehearse or practice? Can't I just get good/competent without expending any effort or time. Not feeling it today in case you didn't notice. A song I can quite happily sing without accompaniment has totally deserted me today. Mangled words and totally mixed up lines.

I think it's dead. They need to give it to you for use as a footrest for you onstage........

It's alright as a song, setting the slightly sketchy lyrics to one side. The bit I can't get my head around is singing it, as very few of the lines seem to match the timing of the phrases. They're either just before or overrun when they feel they should stop. Give me No More Heroes to do any day over Peaches.

How was my rehearsal last night? Awful. I could have transplanted my fingers with Tesco Value sausages and it would have been an improvement, and as for my sense of timing, that deserted me as I was tuning up. Everyone else seemed OK with it though, we made good progress apparently.

Bugger all I suspect. The others have a good run and if you plugged and redrilled the E then it wouldn't line up with the rest.

That's a nice looking thing, I think you've done enough relicing to be honest. It's got a nasty angle from the nut to the E string post mind you 😉

Sounds like some of the garbage MDP comes out with. At least it didn't mention the spacing being ideal for sausage fingered builder guitarists.
