1. Hello and welcome
2. Bloody hell, you are right it was a Status. Maybe it was Andy Bown that used a precision fretless then. I know I've read it somewhere, because I had concerns about switching from my P fretless to my Ibanez fretless. Old age
3. Guy Pratt why he played live with Pink Floyd used a fretless P for songs like Hey You and High Hopes..... I don't know about the original recordings but they sound great on my Defrettted Ibanez with a little bit of reverb
4.
I recently got married, and the wife chose the song "nothing else matters" to walk down the ailse to. I think she just earned herself a couple of extra "cool points". In my eyes at least. What about everyone else?
I understand from a mutual friend that you got married VERY VERY recently.... Go on share a pic! You know the thread is worthless without it
5. I think state of mind has a lot to do with it. If I'm feeling low it can go one of two ways, I can pickup the bass and it lifts me and my mood (happy days) or everything I play can turn to sh*t (bad days). If I'm in a happy mood then generally whatever happens when I pick up the bass I am cool with as I am approaching it from a more positive place!
6. Haven't read through the whole thread, but thought I'd add my views. I think £7 one off or £20 yearly fee is reasonable if you are selling regularly or selling a high priced item. However, for someone like me who won't be selling much, I think it is pricey. I have a fretless P bass to sell now, I'm only looking at selling it for about £120. I'm loathed to pay a £7 fee as I worry it wouldn't sell and that is a big percentage of the sale cost (not flashy enough for many basschatters and quite a specialist item), however, I can list it on Facebook for free and can wait for a free listing day on eBay and only have to pay fees if I do sell it. (Note, I'm not trying to advertise my fretless here through the backdoor! However, if someone read my post and did want it I would pay a £7 out of politeness ) So whereas Basschat would have been my first port of call previously, now I am put off by the fees in view of my comparatively cheap items!!
7. Got married in Las Vegas so no music as no aisle
8. I can't wait to hear it both
9.
Why, are you a jazz fan..?
No just love Ginger Bakers drumming!
10. Loved being a musician, was quite an accomplished Oboeist, but as much as people enjoyed my playing, it never felt like "me". When I accepted my love of low notes and found the bass I knew I was home Would still like to be able to play the sax though, but think I was born to be a bassist!
11. Bugger, wish I'd known about this
12.
Indeed I was Deb. More so than Mrs Mac was having at the party, so I'm told
If she wanted to have a good time, she should have given you a call I'll stop pissing around with the lyrics now..... Couldn't resist today

Hi!

Welcome to the forum
14.
Wifey was out last night, so I took the opportunity to start learning Queens Don't Stop Me Now for an upcoming gig. Quite enjoyed myself
Were you having such a good time? Were you having a ball?
15. Hello and welcome Bev
16.
Ok, Gents....what made you play the bass?
BOO!! I can't answer 'cause I'm a girlie and not a gent I'm also a rebel, so I'll answer anyway: 1. Always had a love of basslines 2. I always preferred watching bassists and seeing the groove with the drums than watching guitarists (final push was watching Brit Floyd) 3. I really missed playing music (I was a classical musician when I was younger)
17.
. Yes, I am a spineless creep.
But we love you for it
18. I watched the first half, did some chores, watched the next half. JT is awesome It has inspired me to look at Rio again today once I've done everything I need to do
19. Bollocks! I've only just seen this
20. Hiya, Girl opinion here Your hands should get used to playing..... However.... Jazz basses tend to have narrower necks..... Me, I am a HUGE fan of Ibanez basses as their necks are super slim which means I can dart around a fretboard like a whippet The Ibanez SR300 range are amazing basses for the money, they retail at just over £250 for the 4 string.... I have 3 of them, a 4 string, a defretted 4 string and a 5 string Welcome and have fun!
21. I like the idea of the sliding pickups and I like the shape..... But like others, I'm not sure I like the hole as it stands.
22. I had started playing and wanted to find somewhere to get help and advice. So I googled some questions I had and found Basschat had the answers. Then started hanging out in Off Topic and made some friends, and now I'm on here everyday..... My Name is Debs and I'm a basschatoholic
23. Hello and welcome
24. Great way to start the day listening to the new entries Have commented on the songs, but have liked them all...... We've had atmospheric styles, Wigan rap and some blues.... Lovely stuff.... It amazes me the creativity that one photo can evoke CamdenRob - I really love the way you use your looping pedal, great build up on the track..... Although sneaking some wine made me giggle
25. I have my Ibanez family I gig using both my Sr300 fretted and SR300 fretless as different tracks demand a different bass, so in a worst case scenario I would do all the gig on either the fretted or the fretless. If you are looking for a good back up bass though, I can't rate the SR300 highly enough.... Although I'm getting a bit of a reputation on here as an Ibanezphile.... I swear if I ever hit the big time (which I won't) every other manufacturer would know not to give me a sponsorship deal
