1. Tried to open your link... but my antivirus kicked in and blocked quite a few nasty things
 2.
Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Rev
3. Great news..... yes, definitely let me know
 4. Could try a quick squirt of furniture polish..... it is a great lubricant and shouldn't hurt the finish either.
 5.
Turns out he is a massive Rockabilly fan & expert on the genre, result Lol
What... there's another one as well as me ? Seriously ... I really want to hear you guys play ... any gigs a bit further down South coming up ??
 6.
Well we played last nights gig & boy did i get a supprise We did a decent sound check for once, the guitars were massively quieter than usual & i was even asked if they were too loud ! I just ran my rig with gain & master volume at 12 o'clock ,neither guitar got turned up at all, infact i actually asked the rhythm guitar to be turned up a little. The gig was awesome, the punters loved us & we sounded great,i couldn't stop grinning all night it was brilliant. The guys have promised me this is how it will be from now on - Result.
That's brilliant news Neil
 7.
They will just not learn, for the past two years i have tried to get them to control their volume levels but alas they will not learn. We are a small three piece rockabilly/country band with two guitars & me on DB,so we have no need to play at high volume. However at last saturdays gig in a very small venue i had to have my 600w Genz rig cranked to 3/4 volume just to keep up,bloody rediculous. Of course that left me fighting feedback all night long which of course meant i ended up with a really sh*te sound. I've tried explaining things to them but it seems once a guitar is strapped on some people just become utterly selfish twats. I have given them the next two gigs to sort it out or i leave the band, they think i am being unreasonable am i ?
As you know from some of our conversations.... I feel ya pain !! Our drummer (who comes and goes ) has finally got the message that all he needs is a snare and cymbal, but our rhythm guitarist still thinks he is playing Wembley....even at rehearsals Quitting the band is a big step. Im sure you would have no problem finding another band to play with, but how would it affect your relationship with your brother ?? Cant you get your brother onside to have a go at the other fella ??? ....and by the sounds of it, you definitely need to have a word with "yoko" ...and get her to keep her nose out........ GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide my friend
 8.
My first tattoo when I was 17 - psychobilly playing a db taken from blood on the cats LP. Took me another 18 yrs before buying my first bass. Watch out they are addictive (both tats and dB's)!
lol... got that album on vinyl. 6 tattoos so far... many, many more to come
 9. Her technique is just fine Rabbie ..... oh... you meant on the bass Mate of mine reckons that if you can count your tattoos, you don't have enough... so Im aiming to catch him up
 10.
But seriously (he said, hitching his stockings), very cool Chris. I keep thinking about getting a tat (I have five already) of Tom the cat playing double bass
lol ... when my daughter saw that she said "oh dad you should have got that one" ... it does look good. Go on... get it ya know you want to Clarkella huh !?!?!?! ..... sometimes you guys worry me
 11.
Nice, I've seen the original pic before. I have a cartoon cat playing upright bass, ripped from the El Toro Please Give Me Something: Roots of the Stray Cats album http://www.raucousre...ray-cats-cd.jpg and I'm booked in to get F holes on my shoulders this Thursday coming.
Cool

 14.
...gentlemen prefer blondes!

Thats a very pretty bass aint it
and boy can he play it
 15.
guitards
hahahahaha ... gonna remember that one.... it does seem to fit for people who have never played rockabilly before. Don't they realise that the bass is the only thing that matters Guitars are definitely second...and the drums are waaaaay back in third. New rig sounds cool ... definitely gotta get oop north to see you guys in action one day
 16.
No Just play it & enjoy it matey. Thats what i do with my DB & don't give a damn what anyone else thinks. P.s.
^^^^^^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^
 17. 124 views ...... and there was me thinking I would get it for next to nothing
 18. I wanted the neo-rockabilly sound of the early eighties, rather than the 50s sound. And I think Ive found just that sound with the Innovation Rockabillys
 19. Any help ?? http://s1120.photobu...html?sort=3&o=0 I think B for the 3/4 should read 110 and not 11
 20.
I think I should stop being a drama queen and just get on and play the thing. Thanks!
lol... good idea. I think, just like most things in life, the "mystique" surrounding the DB is mostly a lot of rubbish. There are obviously some things best left to a professional... fingerboard reshaping comes to mind, but most things are well within the scope of anyone with a bit of common sense.
 21. Surely there are only 3 things that matter..... Did you pay what you thought was a good price for it ? Does it sound ok when you play it? Do you enjoy playing it?
 22.
EDIT: As you say ChrisF - those pickups are cheap enough to experiment with.... And maybe a future back-up too... Let me know what you find re the damping of the click sounds
Ive used a bit of rubber matting, you know the sort with holes in that is used for lining tool chest drawers etc. I tried it doubled over, but it muffled the slap too much, but a single layer seems to work quite well.
 23. Innovation Rockabillys.... and I love them. Couldn't quite get the sound I was after at first, and I blamed the strings, but it was my technique that was at fault. but I would like to give Rotosound RS4000's a go.. after a recommendation from Artisan.
