1.
Hate to be the party pooper but didn't the original cavern shut down years ago and this one is just a tourist attraction?
Strictly speaking yes. The original was knocked down ages ago and made into a car park. The current one is the near the old site (maybe even next door?)and hence the same style of archictecture. So, it does look very much like the original.
 2.
I remember standing in the old Wembley Stadium, watching Simon and Garfunkel playing "Sound of Silence". Man, when that dark day comes that we say our fond farewell to Mr Simon. I know I'm going to cry buckets for someone I never met, for the first time in my life. Assuming I'm fortunate enough to still be here. (Note to self: stop being sloppy!! Pull yourself together, man!)
Was that by any chance in 81/82? The same tour as the Concert in Central Park album? If so, I was there too. What a night. I saw him about 5 years ago, just as he'd turned 70, I think. Still very excellent.
 3. I love my Sire V7 but would live it more with jumbo frets instead of those skinny little ones it has.
 4. And here's to many more happy years. You lucky man 😄
 5.
They're consecutive rather than concurrent.
Probably better that way, I suppose.
 6.
My wife doesn't care if I buy a new bass, to the point that if I say I am selling one shes always asks 'Are you sure? You know you will regret it'.
This can only mean one thing. The plans for your bumping-off are all in place and she now feels released from all need to care what happens to you. Either that or she's just really nice. Well, what do you think? 😉
 7.
I have about 15 basses and 13 motorbikes and just the one wife. Admittedly she is number 3, but she's put up with me for 12 years now.
Crikey, now that is ballsy! Where do you keep the other two hidden?
 8.
Which wife??
There, fixed.
 9.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KqYSqIHU_s
Such boundless self-belief. Wow, I'm almost jealous.
 10. Here's a nice Bruce Springsteen story... http://youtu.be/Kkf9n-WQ5Ik
 11. Like many others said, a good composition well played and resisting the temptation to descend into typewriter-like pud-pulling. Good on ya!
 12. Yuwall jus don understand cuase yuwall haiders.
 13.
The Sadowsky M24-5 http://basschat.co.u...89#entry3202189
I looked at this just out of curiosity. Obviously I'm aware of Sadowskys, but not necessarily a fan.... then I heard that warm, thick sustain....Oh my word... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJPaXhApBhA
 14. That's bloody lovely GLWTS.
 15.
Would love a fretless Precision - but one with a maple fingerboard... Bitsa or a real Fender would do the job.
Wishing you a merry GASmas! 😉 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/288789-197778-fretless-fender-precision-bass-now-l1000/
 16. Merry Christmas BCers and here's to more fun'n'games in the new year.
 17.
i have no desire to buy bass stuff now... or any music stuff anymore..... does that make me a bad person?
Yes.
 18.
For me, then, if I don't convert, I need a 5er with a nut width not exceeding 1.75". Any such thing?
Try this? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/294818-yamaha-bb5000a-christmas-gift-l-600/page__fromsearch__1 Disclaimer: I don't know the seller, I just did a quick search and found this. Ask him about the nut width. Good luck!
 19. I used to have an early 90s Yamaha BB5000A. Being as yammy necks were quite wide, the early fivers were in fact 4-string necks strung a little narrower. I gigged the bass for a year or so, but ultimately the narrower spacing got on my nerves.
 20. Yep, loads of fun. Thanks for posting.
 21.
I'm totally fed up with knobs.
No guitarist in your band then, eh? But seriously, a lovely looking instrument.
 22.
Is that a cut-down toilet seat lid?
If so, why ruin a perfectly good toilet seat to make THAT?
 23.
Taking our little 'un to his first panto this year.. can't wait!
Our 'big' girl turned 5 this year. I'm gagging to take her to a panto. Next time we're in the UK for Christmas, I'm definitely taking her.
 24. If you do fingerstyle with your right hanf (assuming you're righthanded) near the neck i.e. away from the bridge and then dig in, you'll get a similar effect. Stanley Clarke does it a lot. If you like at around 3:05 on this video you can see it quite clearly. It can also be effective without his phenomenal chops 😉 http://youtu.be/OOVasAri0kU
 25.
what happened to advent calendars with just pictures and zero calories?
Yep, I remember them and I remember looking forward to opening the doors every bit as much as my littl'uns do with their chocolate-filled ones today.
