[/quote] Strictly speaking yes. The original was knocked down ages ago and made into a car park. The current one is the near the old site (maybe even next door?)and hence the same style of archictecture. So, it does look very much like the original.

I love my Sire V7 but would live it more with jumbo frets instead of those skinny little ones it has.

I used to have an early 90s Yamaha BB5000A. Being as yammy necks were quite wide, the early fivers were in fact 4-string necks strung a little narrower. I gigged the bass for a year or so, but ultimately the narrower spacing got on my nerves.

If you do fingerstyle with your right hanf (assuming you're righthanded) near the neck i.e. away from the bridge and then dig in, you'll get a similar effect. Stanley Clarke does it a lot.
