  1. My Starfire agrees
  2. I tried to weigh my '81 Ash precsion once but it broke the scales
  3. I’m trying to work out why it has wheels. Stomp on a pedal and you’ll be chasing it along the floor.
  4. It’s a sub series stingray rather than a standard Sterling stingray so it’s probably around the right price for a used one
  5. Great practice amps - I use mine every day.
  6. The Duke & the King used one of these when I saw them at Rough Trade East a few years ago.
  7. Its rare so it must be worth £300? I rembember these from the late 70s LINK -> Kay Precision copy I think the reason they're rare now is that they all ended up in a skip or on a bonfire - and deserved it.
  8. We have pawn shops and junk shops in the UK, and they all need to follow the same consumer protection laws as any other shop. I'd definitely walk away and make the bass someone else's problem. If its a bolt-on neck and you really like the bass you could find out how much it would cost to order a replacement neck from Warwick and adjust the amount you'd offer accordingly but asking $900 for an unplayable bass is taking the Mickey.
  9. When the necks on my basses need a trussrod tweak, they're never bowed as heck with a ridiculously high action; they're slighty bowed with a slightly higher action than is optimal. It sounds like the neck is knackered and the shop owner knows it is knackered. Here in the UK there would be some comeback if a shop sells a secondhand item that is already broken when sold, but I'm guessing there's no such consumer protection in the land of the free?
  10. I change them to flats when I first buy a bass, and if I sell a bass I put the original set back on so I can use the flats on something else.
  11. Oh no terrible news
  12. Very nice but my old LMII is still going strong so I don't have a good enough reason to think about upgrading
  13. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224547178405?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D70794ddb95dd4c3fb2539dd2c8fad2c0%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D203530013534%26itm%3D224547178405%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Aaf26ee79-ee3a-11eb-9cd8-d2a06c94630e|parentrq%3Ae3f53d0617a0a7b183cf5d81fff490d2|iid%3A1 I'm surprised that this is a SIMs custom paint job, I thought their relics were supposed to be more natural looking than this. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/fEQAAOSwlbBg~aKM/s-l1600.jpg
  14. I agree it looks like it was built to hold three basses. My back hurts just looking at it though.
  15. not something to buy, but I would learn how to set up a bass much sooner. I had owned my precision for 20 years before I was brave enough to adjust the truss rod
  16. £40 delivery charge though
  17. I'd second the recommendation for a BDI21. It really punches above its weight. I don't really use mine anymore but it is handy to keep around for emergencies to use as a DI box.
  18. They are the '9050' set, .045 - .100. I put a set on my CIJ mustang and I think I only had to trim off a little of the skinny part at the end of the E & A strings.
  19. The stock long scale fender flatwounds work really well on the JMJ, but Fender really should think about adding a 32" set to the range.
  20. Not really gimmicks but an input clipping indicator & a mute button are always welcome.
  21. Look out! I think this is the mythical 'ugly stick' - make sure you don't get hit with it.
