1.
A good gig let down by the sound I thought, which is a shame. I really like the Union Chapel but when the the volume reached a certian level last night it sounded pretty awful, as it would if you have a fairly loud amplified band playing in a church ! - not much anyone could do about it really, unless they draped off the roof beforehand or something...and I'd forgotten my earplugs too which would have made it sound nicer ! But some great playing - although I wasn't keen on Tom Kennedy's sound, but I guess it's his... :-) He's an outstanding player though. Weckl however stole the show for me, he was absolutely on fire and was a joy to watch. Anyone else go ?
I was there, and I agree with every single point you made here!
2. Do you know the scale length and the string spacing?
3. No-one interested? Sad times!
4.
I traded this bass only because I couldn't get on with the 35" scaling. I do miss it though!
I remember looking at trading with you for this - looked perfect apart from the scale! Damn my tiny hands!
5. I realise that some may think this is more a theory forum topic, but I disagree, I think a lot of people who will get loads out of this will not necessarily see it there, and anyway, it's not a theory site, it's about bassplaying!
6. Hi all, I just wanted to share with you my favourite bass resource on the web, along with Janek Gwizdala's online lessons, Basso Ridiculoso. This guy does loads of transcriptions of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Clifford Brown, Bill Evans as well as basslines by people like Paul Chambers et al. Not only that, but he analyses them and points out interesting harmonic stuff. I'm not affiliated with this website in any way, it's just a fabulous resource - so much stuff I cannot keep up! It's a really nice gift to the bass community and deserves support. Website HERE
7. He's outstanding, I'm transcribing some of his lines.

15. Wes, it's outstanding! I think I definitely want one! I'd say YES to the matching headstock - it would look fabulous. And as you've said, this is an "inspired by.." bass, not a direct copy (although the relicing looked spot on!).
