The Poly Blue Octave is fast becoming my favourite pedal! It was a slow burner for me, but once I sussed it, wow! It has so much scope and has allowed me to remove half my pedalboard. It can cover. Synth, Analogue Octave down, Organ style POG effects, Chorus, Fuzz, Drive even Royal blood at a push, plus a myriad of other things. I might even get another one and have 2 on the board with different settings?

I bought a Darkglass VMT from Rob and couldn't be happier. Pedal was exactly as described - near mint and with the box and instructions. It was extremely well pack and arrived the day after I paid for it exactly as Rob had said it would in his prompt a friendly comms. Thanks again Rob and all the very best.

The plate on these is quite small so I’d imagine a standard J type bell plate would look awkward and would not fit nicely?

Thanks, it’s my first time attempting any routing so I’m pleased it worked out. I’ve been heavily influenced by the guy at Crimson guitars YouTube channel. So many great tips on there.

Right, spent the morning making a routing template, routing the battery cavity, drilling a new pot hole in a new control plate and doing all the soldering. I located the battery where it is to try a counter balance the neck dive, which has worked to some extent - better but not gone. It sounds really good and given the money I’ve spent it’s remarkably close to a classic Stingray. It’ll come with me on my next gig. Here are the results, I’m well cuffed.

My second purchase from Jamie, this one equally as smooth as the last. Not only did he bring the bass to London (as he was working there) to make my life easier, but he also sold me a peach of a bass - much like he did last time! Can’t recommend him highly enough.

Got my filthy mitts on a Retrovibe Stinger ‘77 pre amp! After a little surgery, Wow! What a difference - this thing sounds killer, full on MM Stingray. Here’s a pic with a very Heath Robinson setup until some routing occurs…

As for neck dive, there is definitely an inherent dipping of the headstock due to the body shape. The top horn is very short! This is somewhat lessened by the high mass bridge, but it doesn’t cure it totally.

I weighed mine and it came in around 4Kg but I’m using highly inaccurate bathroom scales.

I acquired one of these basses and was surprised too by the quality of the fit and finish. I’ve just upgraded the bridge to a Fender hi-mass and added an Aguilar AG-4M pickup - both of which I found here on the marketplace. Both upgrades were direct replacements for the stock parts too. This is now a fantastic poor man’s Stingray!
