1. Exactly the same as mine!! Just gorgeous πŸ˜†
2. I'd have thought connectin it to the ray preamp would provide the power as an EMG circuit would.
3.
I've owned a JV Strat since the early eighties, it's an excellent instrument but in this day and age I'm sure you could get something to equal it in quality for less money.
I completely agree! The classic vibe squires are fantastic for the money and those limelight copies get a lot of love. Even modern day japanese basses are fantastic (bacchus etc). I feel there are some far more interesting fender inspired basses coming out of Japan these days.
4.
I need to get out more...
lol πŸ˜‰
5. Very informative! Thanks again J back to the OP! Yes get a Japanese fender copy, they are great. Sadowsky metros are Japanese made and are silly money.
6. Pedant away J It's all good!!!! Here's a little thing that confirms your right! http://www.music-trade.co.jp/tokaihistory.html It does mention lawsuit era guitars meaning all of the Japanese copies at the time. Whether or not fender sued these companies is Moot as fender employed them all at different stages to make Japanese fenders. thanks for the info J
7. At the moment!! The Green Spector NSCR4 on here and the new flea signature jazz in shell pink!! I'd still like a Nate Mendel P bass too πŸ˜† I wish I had the money to get my old Ken smith back too 😟
8. Don't discount the Tokais either! They IIRC they were made by matsumoko and created the infamous "lawsuit" fenders. I recently picked up an 83 tokai fretless jazz in an unusual Teal colour and the quality is on par with my 82 JV jazz. These are going for a lot less as they currently don't have the trend factor, but the prices are rising. At over 1k I wouldn't consider a JV now as I feel there are plenty of decent basses in thay price point which would be better value (although not collectable im sure). I was lucky I paid Β£120 for my JV back in 93 and i recall one or two jvs floating around the north east for not much money. I foolishly didn't buy a jv precision in leeds for Β£150 many moons ago. Oh to have hindsight eh! I passed on an old Wal for Β£800 too!!! Kicking myself I bought a warwick instead πŸ˜‚
9. I really hope you can sort it and don't have to sell!
10. I wish I had the cash to buy this! Dave Wilsons finishing work is second to none! I once owned an old warwick he'd refinished it was stunning. This is a daft price for this bass! Have a bump πŸ˜†
11. My wife would never buy me bass gear in a million years πŸ˜†
12. Wow!!! Not for the faint hearted!!!! πŸ˜‰ beautiful bass for someone up to it!

14. I used SWR stuff for years and it was THE rig to use for while. I absolutely loved it all, even the early workingman stuff was great. It amazes me how cheap you can pick this stuff up for now, when I think about how much money I spent πŸ˜… IIRC when fender first bought the brand, they released a new line of bass rigs, which was very similar to the SWR! They then ran the brand into the ground πŸ˜•

cat vs cab

A blunt gillette razor lightly scraped works well! My three mini tigers love to kill cabs, which is why I don't have carpeted cabs, and they have covers and i cover the covers πŸ˜…
16. Got a few bits im not using Evidence Audio Lyric HG 15ft cable - TRADED! very high end cable, I bought this quite a long time ago, when I had a lot more disposable income (before kids). At the same time I bought some used Zaolla cables on here, as a result the Evidence Audio was used twice as i much prefer the Zaolla. It has been sat in a case for years and not used,I have taken it out with me as a spare and never needed it. Fantastic warm/clear audiophile sound, but the cable is quite thick and not very flexible, I really don't need a 15ft cable either. bass direct have These at this length for Β£99 so ill do this for Β£40 delivered. Pedal interconnects x4 I've 4 pedal connectors, one is an unused planet waves one (rrp 4.99) and three generic ones. One of these can be adjusted between pedals of different brands All are unused, Β£11 delivered for the lot or Β£3.00 each. many thanks
17. Great show! And some very tasty bass lines!! I was asked to do sister act before the Christmas, however I couldn't due to moving. There is an oc2 up at the mo for Β£80,however to get it to track fast lines well, its best to play right up the neck, great sound though πŸ˜†
18. The EBS octabass has been going for roughly Β£50-Β£60 great sounding octave and tracks very well not as dirty as the OC2. out of interest what show are you doing?
19. Just bought a Bergantino AE210 from James! An absolute pleasure to deal with and a very cool young fella. Had some great little chats about the cruises as im an ex salty seadog πŸ˜† cab was sent in superfast time and expertly packed by his great dad. will deal with anytime, thanks James fir the awesome cab,ill be in touch πŸ˜‰
20. My perfect year of birth bass!!!!! That would be a dream come true 😍
