To make things worse, the difference between a deluded time-waster and an undiscovered genius is sometimes very hard to spot.

Will DB players stop complaining about transport, now?

Try aimless noodling on that! -
They look very cool.

I like people and I like attention. Therefore I like gigging, therefore I smile. -
Bassist wanted for exciting new originals band

The phrase 'crazy adventures' is generally a red flag. -
I used to own a blue estate and do own Vanderkley cabs but still have all my hair and have never lived in Nottingham. But that is half marks, which is a pass.
The ones I'm looking at are quite flat and will be on the floor freestanding. Sort of the home garden floodlight variety, Just don't know how bright they are for the wattage. eg 20/30/50/100 watt
I have LED PARs. 32 light ones are nice and bright, 64 light ones can be used as anti-aircraft searchlights.
The only time you should smile is any on stage banter.
Does this mean I'm not allowed to smile if I'm enjoying myself? -
You can get LED bars that look a bit like TV soundboards. They don't take up too much space but are pricy.

I used to do amateur theatre stuff and remember that I knew when my expressions were right if the felt exaggerated and forced. If you feel as if you are grinning like an idiot on stage, then you have got it about right. -
Not me, but clearly a person of taste and distinction.

"Is it just that musicians are disorganised?" In my experience, people with a strong bias for organisation, list-making and orderliness, etc. are under-represented in creative careers. That's not to say that they don't exist, but there are many fewer.
For a genre that was supposed to be all about breaking the rules, it's amazing how many unwritten ones they've put in place.
+1 People who consider themselves outsiders or anti-authority are always much more concerned about pedigree/credibility than everyone else.

Combination In-Ear/Wireless Guitar System?
colgraff replied to lowregisterhead's topic in General Discussion
I have an invention in my head, band in a box, digital mixer like the behringer x air, inbuilt wireless inputs and wireless iem, basically you buy the mixer, a pair of high end powered pa tops and as many instrument packs and iem packs as required. Job done perfect mix at every venue!
Can we visit your Caribbean island when you have made your fortune? -
They look very similar and I suspect the photo was an honest mistake by the seller. How does the price that you paid compare to the retail price? If I was in your position, I'd probably not complain about it, but that's just me.

Combination In-Ear/Wireless Guitar System?
colgraff replied to lowregisterhead's topic in General Discussion
Not that I have ever seen. I'd like one, but if it does exist it is probably prohibitively expensive. Most live acts I've seen with IEMs and wireless seem to have two packs. -
My Dingwall Prima 5 - it sounds beautiful and the action is so low and the neck so smooth that it almost plays itself.
i hate the bullshit lyrics first line - "so no one told you life was gonna be this way".... then later in the song "your mumma told you there'd be days like this"..... how can she have done if no one told you. pety i know but it drives me nuts
Perhaps she told you when you were a teenager, so you weren't listening?

I very much doubt it. -
Every time A Church bell Rings by Carter USM When bonny Clive was twenty three He took a dive from the balcony Embarrassing his blushing bride Who took her red face for a ride To Blackpool and the pouring rain She went out on the evening train And came in with the morning tide As another seaside suicide It was summertime when Sally Clarke Suffered from a broken heart That left her down and out of touch The patron saint of nothing much No charity, no faith, no hope She'd seen it on her favourite soap Take fifty thousand million pills And don't forget to pay the bills Well I remember Micky Doyle He shuffled off this mortal coil With no message for "that special girl" Just thank you and goodbye cruel world Then for the sake of Auld Lang Syne He put his head on the railway line Looked up at the morning sun And waited for the train to come The TV repossessed and so I tune in to the radio Where the DJ's playing the same old songs To whistle while you're signing on Give me the beat boy and free my soul Fill my pockets up with gold I'll leave a message on the fridge And drive my car off London Bridge But London Bridge is falling down There ain't no gold in Silver town So I'm canceling my driving test And walking back to happiness Whoop bye oh yeah yeah! Everytime a churchbell rings Another angel gets its wings

And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda by Eric Boyle When I was a young man I carried my pack And I lived the free life of a rover From the Murrays green basin to the dusty outback I waltzed my Matilda all over Then in nineteen fifteen my country said Son It's time to stop rambling 'cause there's work to be done So they gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun And they sent me away to the war And the band played Waltzing Matilda As we sailed away from the quay And amidst all the tears and the shouts and the cheers We sailed off to Gallipoli How well I remember that terrible day How the blood stained the sand and the water And how in that hell that they called Suvla Bay We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter Johnny Turk he was ready, he primed himself well He chased us with bullets, he rained us with shells And in five minutes flat he'd blown us all to hell Nearly blew us right back to Australia But the band played Waltzing Matilda As we stopped to bury our slain We buried ours and the Turks buried theirs Then we started all over again Now those that were left, well we tried to survive In a mad world of blood, death and fire And for ten weary weeks I kept myself alive But around me the corpses piled higher Then a big Turkish shell knocked me arse over tit And when I woke up in my hospital bed And saw what it had done, I wished I was dead Never knew there were worse things than dying For no more I'll go waltzing Matilda All around the green bush far and near For to hump tent and pegs, a man needs two legs No more waltzing Matilda for me So they collected the cripples, the wounded, the maimed And they shipped us back home to Australia The armless, the legless, the blind, the insane Those proud wounded heroes of Suvla And as our ship pulled into Circular Quay I looked at the place where my legs used to be And thank Christ there was nobody waiting for me To grieve and to mourn and to pity And the band played Waltzing Matilda As they carried us down the gangway But nobody cheered, they just stood and stared Then turned all their faces away And now every April I sit on my porch And I watch the parade pass before me And I watch my old comrades, how proudly they march Reliving old dreams of past glory And the old men march slowly, all bent, stiff and sore The forgotten heroes from a forgotten war And the young people ask, "What are they marching for?" And I ask myself the same question And the band plays Waltzing Matilda And the old men answer to the call But year after year their numbers get fewer Some day no one will march there at all Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda Who'll go a waltzing Matilda with me And their ghosts may be heard as you pass the Billabong Who'll go a waltzing Matilda with me?
Playing a pub with inears... (all band members were on inears) Apologies to those offended by the LEDs. Apologies for the Day Tripper musical joke in the baseline... Just general apologies.
Never apologise for LEDs, they are always cool. The next step will be to have in-ears with LEDs. That would be super-cool!
