  1. Anyone want a used set to try out? I used a little spacer behind the bridge to ensure that the string end winding at the ball end didn't sit over the E string saddle (I've included the spacer with the strings). Usual Kev offer - free of charge, and free delivery to your place (within the UK).
  2. How come the pickup Joe uses on his own bass isn't the same as the one on the production model?
  3. Also, the Buggles version of this track was the definitive version (this original version was produced by Trevor Horn too) Video Killed The Radio Star
  4. I've always loved this version Devo - (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction https://youtube/jadvt7CbH1o
  5. Cory Wong at Oran Mor in Glasgow on Tuesday was fantastic!!
  6. I'm going to see Steely Dan tomorrow at The Hydro in Glasgow. Wanted to see Cory Wong next week in Glasgow too, but it's sold out (plus I'm absolutely skint until payday!! So that would have been a washout anyhow! Hahaha)
  7. I've got the same notification. I've ready got a copy from the initial run, it's a gorgeous book (and very big!!). It's well worth the wait. I ordered another copy in case I need a last minute bass related present for someone!!
  8. Tears For Fears / Alison Moyet at The Hydro in Glasgow last night was a belter of a gig. Fantastic sound. Audience up on their feet for the sets of both acts. Pity the O2 in London didn't seem to have the same atmosphere?
  9. Ooh! My order is still showing delivery anticipted between 15th Feb and 12th March.
  10. As well as being a great bassist, his vocals were great too. Here's Dee as part of the stellar backing vocals on "Candle In The Wind". Love it!!
  11. I had Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy album playing in the car today - still sounds amazing.
  12. That's a shame, I've always received fantastic service from Andertons with any orders I've placed with them.
  13. I bought it at £18, and re-ordered another copy when it was advertised at £15 (just on case I need a quick gift for someone). I'm happy to wait until the new print run is available. It's a fantastic bass book.
  14. As I'm now an oldie, I often take my hand off the neck when playing an open string - just so I can adjust my glasses when I feel them slipping down my nose.
  15. I've actually just found my padded bag of leads and cables here at home!! Were they beside the rest of my gear in my storage cupboard? Nope! Were they beside my guitar bits and pieces? Nope! So, where were they? I found the bag on the top of my kitchen fridge / freezer! I've still no recollection of putting anything up there!!???
  16. I've just realised that all of my kettle leads have been left in a padded bag at my last gig. Called the venue but the errant bag is nowhere to be seen! I've now found that no one local seems to sell IEC "kettle" leads!! Just had to order a bundle from an Ebay seller.
  17. There is so much history behind the Strats The black Strat was obviously his main guitar for the classic albums, and was used for the Pink Floyd reunion set at Live 8. The White Strat obviously has historical interest due to the 0001 serial number. Plus he used it on the Strat Pack anniversary concert at Wembley Arena. The Red Strat was his main guitar during the Division Bell era, plus it was the guitar he used when he played at Live Aid in 1985.
  18. I wonder if Guy using my white Jazz will add to its value? Nah, thought not! Hahaha
  19. The guidelines are always way off when it comes to celebrity instrument auctions. The black Strat should sell for a crazy amount. David Gilmour is a rare breed of rock star in that he doesn't crave wealth or adulation. This auction is to raise funds for charitable concerns. He did something similar in the early 90s when he sold his Knightsbridge home to raise money for Shelter (he briefly discussed that in his 2003 appearance on Desert Island Discs) https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00937ls
  20. When Jamiroquai toured in Europe a few years back - on a "no gig" night, there was a wedding reception in the hotel the band were staying in. During the break in the wedding band's set, the backing band from jamiroquai did an impromptu few numbers. The audience had no idea who they were. Paul told me a few punters told them, "you guys are good. You should do that professionally"!!
  21. Right now I'm listening to my neighbours shagging!! What a racket!!
  22. 6/32 slot head https://www.axecaster.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12_40&products_id=243&zenid=98v067gl4avqv7hkqao1fcupr5
  23. The delays in the delivery from Amazon are nothing to do with them - they need to wait until the second printing has been completed. For those of us who ordered from the original print run, you'll know how often the anticipated delivery date changed. Almost every week there was a new "expected delivery date".
  24. A lesser broadcast poem by The Bard: "C**k Up Your Beaver"!!! (honestly!!!) https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03x0sr9
