Hi there. I got myself an Ibanez SR500 at Xmas. I've not put it down since. Really taken with this one. The only question I have, is how to clean/protect the body. I have googled and looked at the Ibanez site but drawn a blank. Is there any product that is recommended for this type of body. It's mahogany body without a gloss-type finish. Any pointers gratefully received. Many thanks

New amp arrived today, hurrah! Used a company called Bax. Good price, good communications on delivery status and it arrived this morning at 07:30am just as I got back from my morning run. Looking forward to trying it out with my Xmas bass this evening.

As for their suppliers, that is their problem and not mine, they are happy to take my money but unable to deliver on their promise of "Excellent Service" when things go wrong. I accept that problems can and do occur, the measure of a company is how they resolve these problems and keep customers coming back.

Hi there I have been having a real battle with Gear 4 Music. A potted history below. We purchased an Amp which developed a fault within warranty period. It was picked up and sent for repair, 3 weeks later, it came back unfixed. Cue lengthy phone calls to try and arrange a replacement. They promised to collect on a certain day, then after waiting in all day, no-one arrived. More lengthy phone calls and finally they arrange a collection. A week later, I ring them to find out what is happening, was told that the testing of the amp would take approx 10 days. When I queried this and asked why a 5 minute job takes so long, I was told that I had to wait for all the other testing work to be done, and despite the issues I have had, they could do nothing to assist me. I gave a review on Facebook and miraculously, someone called that day to arrange a replacement, which arrived yesterday. The amp was broken. Called them today and can now expect a refund in 5 to 10 days. I have tried to speak to managers, but they refuse to speak to customers. They will not acknowledge a complaint and say I have to write to the chief executive, when I ask for his/her name and email addresses they say they don't know. Have I been unlucky or are they usually this bad? Nevertheless, my money will be going elsewhere.

[/quote] The Dimension, felt very cheap (which it was I admit) but compared to other Squier models I'd tried and even own, it just felt poor quality, fret ends were rough, controls very loose and the tone was a bit flat and one dimensional (no pun intended).

For a few months now I've been looking at various 4 string basses as my old faithful is really battered and has become a bit of a chore to play. I set a budget of about £400 max as I can't justify any more for an Xmas pressie. I whittled my list down to 5 basses to try out 1. Squier Dimension 2. Epiphone Thunderbird classic 3. Musician Sub Ray 4 4. Squier CV P Bass 5. Ibanez SR300 Took myself into a store last Monday and tried out a few. The Thunderbird, whilst sounding nice, was uncomfortable. The Ibanez felt a bit underwhelming on the tone, but played nicely. The SubRay sounded great and played nicely. I was pretty much set on the SubRay but it had a ding in the headstock and rather than take a discount, I wanted a mint one. Back to another store on Saturday, with Mrs K in tow, where I retried the SubRay - still liked it, tried the Dimension and instantly disliked it. The Squire CV was a lovely quality bass, and sounded good. But I still wasn't sure which to go for. Mrs K pointed out an Ibanez SR500BM which she liked the look of, because the colour would match our coffee table and mantlepiece! I wasn't sure as the SR300 I had previously tried hadn't really grabbed me. But I gave it a go.... Instantly, I was hooked, playability, tone, finish etc bowled me over. Then on checking the price, it was a touch over budget by £130. Mrs K pointed out that over the last few months, she's not seen me get excited by a bass like this one, so decided to try and get a deal for us. Mission accomplished, a nice reduction on price and approval to spend a bit more from Mrs K and I'm the proud owner of an Ibanez SR500. I do now have to wait until Xmas Day, but am really excited about opening this. My 4 month quest is over......

I think the worst was my old Saisho (Dixons own brand) hifi that I played my first bass through, the speakers never sounded the same again.

I've had this pedal for about 4 years now, always enjoyed using it. One thing that niggled me was the slight delay from engagement and disengagement of the pedal. On a whim yesterday I googled this issue and discovered that there is a small wheel inside the pedal, which when turned clockwise all the way, removes the delay. I was sceptical, but gave it a go. Surprising it worked. Not only has the delay gone, but I feel kinda chuffed with myself, wish I hadn't waited so long. I am a bit surprised that the pedal ships with a delay and includes no instructions to amend.
