1. Thanks chaps, sorry all for going off topic!!
2. Thanks Bert, but even that's lost me! Can't even find find where it says media let alone any brackets. I blame Slayer... \m/
3. Far too many to choose from! For me, a heavy riff has to have a groove and impact, rather than maintain a constant level of ferocity. But I appreciate that tastes differ and that's one of the things I like best about 'Heavy Metal' , that so many variations of styles come along, take something and add something and it develops. Liking Rammstein at the moment, and also partial to a bit of Mastodon. No idea how you get the video's in. Old git, with addled headbanger brain cells.... (Update, old dog has been taught new tricks!!)
4. I bought Jethro's Digitech Digital Delay, good communication and the item was well packed and delivered bang on time. Cheers mate!
5. I've got one of these, turns your rig into something that looks like a blue version of the car in 'Knight Rider.' Have a bump.
6. Hi all Just got myself a nice little Zoom H2n, which seems to be ideal for what I need (just recording practices really.) Never had any sort of recording device before (well since my WH Smith cassette recorder when I was 10, I'm 44 now you know..) Now, I'm not thick, but neither do I pick up fancy computer interfaces 'intuitively'. The Zoom came with some Wavelab software and I'd hoped that this would enable me to easily chop down the files into song sized chunks, maybe convert it to MP3 (the Zoom can do this too) and then just let me bung out files to the band. That's about it really, not bothered with processing it at all. Well, I can't even work out how to fast forward through tracks with this Wavelab software. I'm the sort of guy who needs the 'quick start' manual and nothing more, can't even find anything like that. Sorry as I'm sure this has been asked loads of times, but any suggestions welcome. Cheers all, feeling a bit useless! Jason
7. Guten Tag! Not just the land of Warwicks, but Sandbergs too! (I've got both, nothing like a nicely turned out German beneath your fingers...) Oh and Rammstein!! Thankyou very much for them too, stunning live band.
8. Having shamelessly tried (unsuccesfully) to flog you my Behringer Bass Overdrive, I must now add my support to the Lomenzo Hyperdrive. I used mine at practice for the first time last night and previously usually only kicked an overdrive on every now and then. I found myself leaving the Lomenzo on a lot longer. I also forgot to turn off the 10db boost (that it has for 'solos'), so I was quite loud.... Nice unit, think you might find you'd use it more than you think if you can get one at the right price for you.

10. Thanks all I think I'll stick with my 'rainbow' of cheapy patches! They go well with the 'painted by a 3 year old' chip board pedal board after all .... Great to be able to chat this stuff over.
11. Lots of other replies whilst I was typing and reading the research, thanks guys! I don't have an issue with ground noise right now, but if (when ) I add more pedals I'll remember this if it does crop up.
12. Thanks mate, that's interesting. As my main bass is active this would suggest little/no benefit. He does mention George L's as potentially having some advantage of the cheapy moulded ones (like mine) for when people have lots of pedals connected. I have six pedals in my loop currently. At the moment I'm not inclined to spend the cash (on something as dull as patch cables) just to experiment, and the research on the link does suggest that they are a placebo if you use an active instrument. I might stick a simple true bypass looper in front of all of them though so I can take the lot out when not needed.
13. Hi, yeah, that's what I'm wondering. I kind of understand that maybe 'better quality' cables etc may give a 'cleaner' signal. But this isn't based on anything other than reading the marketing material (so not that reliable!) I'm sure there must be a guru or two on hear who will have an opinion/experience.
14. Hi all Having fun tinkering with effects, I'm using cheap Stagg patch leads (chosen mostly for their rainbow colours!) but have since seen various other 'solderless' options. E.G. George L's, Planet Waves, Lava etc. My question is mostly, it it worth it? Do they make any audible improvement in the 'live' world (not worried about recording.) Also any recomendations which to use/avoid? (If worth doing.) Cheers all Jason
15. I think a name for your bass is ok, it just doesn't necessarily have to take on a 'sex' with it. My Sandberg has a name 'The Bandit Bass' it (and my username) derives from my old Suzuki Bandit motorbike, I sold the bike (after much heart wringing) but swore to spend the money on something fun and hence the bass has to be 'The Bandit Bass' and it also had to be red.. Having just typed the above, I've probably just realised that I'm in no position to question giving a bass a sex.....
16. For boats 'she' is pretty much the accepted terminology, anything else a bit weird. Mind you, I think that football fans who continually go on about 'we should have done this' , or ' we played better in the second half etc' are even more deluded. You're just watching, probably not even at the game, there is no WE! You are just a punter!
17. If it's cheap you want then you could do worse than buy my Behringer Bass Overdrive! Handy little thing and it has a blend control, can't go wrong really. 18. [sub]Done! Hope the little Behringer is doing you a turn , J[/sub]
19. Sam bought a pedal from me recently, really quick payment and no hassle whatsoever. Cheers mate!
20. I used to have a Hohner B Bass, this was very light in weight and to play, with a slim neck. Can't imagine they go for much now but it was a really nice giggable bass. Through neck, Jazz configuration pups and active/passive. Might be worth a look if one comes up for the right price. Lighter than my Warwick Corvette 4 (which is also very nice) and a similar size body.
21. I am the Anti-Velcro. Nasty gunky stuff. I like the old bike chain link approach and screw 'em down. (Though I appreciate that with a home made board, constructed from random scraps of wood and chip board and then painted by my three year old, my approach may not suit everyone... )
