  1. Thanks for this, be great to see the post 2000 split of the full list when available. Purely selfish interests as it's a handy list to rip off for my covers band! 🙂
  2. 5 String Reverend bass in 32", and a Robot Roadie to set up and pack down at gigs...
  3. I did this - stuck the components (mine is just a single USB output) in a bit of plastic tube then cable tied under my pedal board. Pretty no, cheap and works, yes.
  4. I know you mention that you've tried Facebook Groups - have you tried these two? https://www.facebook.com/groups/133927049955561 and https://www.facebook.com/groups/567722186694185 both Essex based and cover band specific.
  5. I have a Sire P5 5 ( the passive one) can't fault it. Lovely neck, sounds like a P, the B is fine. I'll also throw the Reverend Mercalli into the mix. 5 string reverse P and MM - passive. I have both, the Mercalli is a bruiser and my main gigging bass. Very capable with a lot of tonal variation if required. I use the Sire as back up and pick it up first at home for practice and learning songs etc.
  6. Thanks for the response - I use a VT Bass DI currently, that can sound good but I don't find it intuitive with the Character control being a bit hard to pin down at times. I might use it a bit differently to the norm in that I just have it for control of FOH sound, I use the 'through' output to my amp making the two independent of each other. Works great for the pub and small venue gigs as it's easy to blend and EQ backline and FOH. I could split my signal prior to using an SH1 but it's not as convenient as all being in one unit. Losing the tuner and second channel not an issue for my particular use. I'll mention it to 'Arry if I see him 😉 Cheers - appreciate your attention.
  7. Hi there - the SH1. Sorry, should have made that clearer!
  8. @Tech21NYC love the sound of this pedal, but I'd happily trade the tuner and second channel for a clean throughput and phantom power. That would make it closer to your existing offerings and (for me) be a more giggable package.
  9. Ghost at the O2 on Saturday. Brilliant show and atmosphere, it was a phone free event and so much the better for it.
  10. Or Abbacadaver 💀
  11. Wake me up before you go go - Wham
  12. I use the Donner Wireless DMX dongles. They work well, but you do have to remember to charge them! I also use a Bigfoot DMX foot controller. Like all manual controllers it's tedious to program but once done you can operate the lights with your feet. We also use some external coloured led floodlights as general uplighting. They aren't DMX
  13. Banana Republic - Boomtown Rats
  14. The Funky Gibbon - The Goodies
  15. Skirt Tunnel, Lovers Plums and Groaning Toss....all memorable suggestions 🤣 Almost as addictive as the Sandberg configurator!
  16. If you are looking at 2x8 cabs then I can highly recommend the GR Bass GR208/4 500w. Thunderous little thing and easily copes with live gigging and acoustic drums in a pub rock band. I use a 500w head with it and it does seem to like a bit of power.
  17. Loving my Reverend Mercalli- plenty of Not A P options here https://reverendguitars.com/basses/
  18. Exactly what I was thinking- just stuff that does what you need. More about utility than attachment. 😉
  19. Not sure if this has a thread - I did a search, but Gas gets mentioned a lot! 🙂 So, I was just doing a bit of home headphone practice and realised I have not once thought of changing my venerable Zoom B3 which has sat on my desk ready to go for years. I can' t think of many other things that I haven't changed or even thought of changing. What have you got that's a permanent fixture to bass life? (BTW. I'm well aware you answers may instill GAS but let's risk it...)
  20. Look out for a used Zoom B3. More settings than you'll ever need, plus it's a ready made pedal board or DI should you ' go live.'
  21. Thanks, that's interesting about the different alarm types. We have used smoke before in a bigger venue and they switched from smoke to heat alarms for us. But, not likely down the Pie & Ferret!
  22. Yep, always would. Just wondering if anyone has had issues with sparing use of a hazer triggering alarms, or not 🙂
  23. Hi all Having set off more than a few smoke alarms in the distant past with my venerable smoke machine, I've not taken it out gigging for some time. Popped out to see a mates band who made good (sparing) use of a Hazer this weekend. They said they didn't experience issues. Not looking for anything more than just a little bit of atmosphere for the lights. Interested to know if anyone else uses one and any issues?
  24. I saw the Kris Barras Band at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds last night. I don't know their stuff but what a great modern rock band - loads of energy and a very talented bunch. The bass player was all over the stage all night - no standing at the back looking moody 😄 Awesome venue too. Highly recommend, would see again!
