Faux double tracking with a variable 'tightness' control to add a slight random element to the delay time... great for thickening things up or splitting out to 2 amps. I used this with a Royal Blood style octave up fake guitar sound to split the signal to 2 guitar amps and it sounded absolutely monstrous. Mint and boxed. £55 posted -

Awesome fuzz pedal, very tweakable and can get everything from light overdrive to heavy fuzz. ACNR control can introduce a gated effect, and there's a switchable octave up (note that it's not a proper octaver, more of an octavia like octave up fuzz). Lots of internal dip switches for tweaking the LPF on the clean channel, the HPF going into the fuzz, and another LPF for the octave up. Probably the most solidly built pedal I've owned, mint condition. £160 posted -
My favourite from the Q-Tron range, it has that slightly dirty quack that reminds me of the old Mutrons... they were designed by the same guy after all! It has a non standard DC input so you'll need an adapter either to that jack or to the battery clip if you don't want to use a battery... battery door is intact. No original box though. £60 posted

3 different sounds - vintage, modern and rotary speaker effect, plus built in overdrive. You can also hold the button down to change the speed between fast and slow. A bit of low end loss with the vintage/rotary modes but still works well for copping Led Zep's Heartbreaker! No loss of low end in modern mode though, which is my favourite setting. Still got mine! The separate clean lows have a big advantage over the VTDI for heavier tones... Although I'm keeping both (as well as the Leeds and DP3X!), can't bring myself to sell any of them!

This is one of the older models when they outsourced production to 3Leaf Audio for a spell in the USA before moving back to Finland. I hunted down one of these specifically because the Attack switch has 2 levels of boost instead of 1... I also kept this over the v2 as it sounded better to my ears! £110 posted -

Diabolik as mentioned has been my favourite synthy fuzz of all time. I didn't like the You're Doom at all by itself, although it did sound good in combo with octave and/or filter. Darkglass Duality is another one to look into!

The short scale ones are pretty light - however I hear the Sterling By Music Man range can vary quite a bit as they use different body woods for different colours, the white ones using mahogany and being a bit lighter for instance (but don’t quote me on that!). -

Ordered some Status 40-100 flats; £22 posted and never seen a bad review. I thought they’d stopped making the half rounds, they have for long scale but they still have the shorties! I have some of them on a 34” fretless. Defretting this shorty Stingray has crossed my mind! -

Had it for a couple of days now, initial thoughts: The neck and fingerboard feel dry as a bone. I wonder what my best options are for a smooth oiled finish without too much effort! Decent amount of tone differences from the 3 way switch, all useable. Surprised how good the single coil sounds when played agressively. Favourite is definitely series mode though, which sounds closest to my Sandberg Basic (also series I believe). The push/push volume knob has a preset cut/boost which is just the right amount for equalising the volume boost you get from serial mode, so you can easily use multiple modes on the gig. This thing needs some flats. I’m used to TIs but the shortest they make is 32” medium scale. Risk an expensive experiment, go with some cheap Status Hotwires, or splash out on some Chromes / LaBella / Pyramids? What happened to D’Addario prices, they used to be cheap compared to other flats now they’re some of the most expensive going?! Getting rid of the Sandberg Basic was a silly idea, it’s the best sounding bass I’ve ever played! -

I have a Sterling by Music Man short scale Stingray inbound to try out… was also interested in the G&L Tribute Fallout. My first 30” scale bass but I love playing my 21” scale Kala so much I’m sure I’ll get on with it and there may be a 34” scale Sandberg Basic going up for sale in the fallout (pun intended).
