  1. Sold a HX Stomp to Paul and he was great to deal with. He had already paid before I could type my next message. I'd have no hesitation selling to (or buying from) Paul again. People like Paul are why I prefer to buy and sell on Basschat than anywhere else.
  2. PM incoming
  3. Anyone tried the Cali 76 compressor? I've got an Origin Effects CB, I'd like another but I couldn't justify the cost. Is it worth the risk for £50?
  4. Just ordered mine today, I sent them a message asking about buying it without VAT and they sent me a quote for the Capo and postage. It was just over £400, I suddenly found myself paying for it without thinking. They expect to be sending them out in around 2 weeks. So another pedal board rearrangement will be happening. I've also ordered a chorus, envelope filter and octave, should be a fun few weeks.....
  5. I bought this a few months back planning to do without a pedalboard, but I don't use amp modelling and I guess I just prefer the flexibility of separate pedals. It's got velcro on the back to mount it on my board, comes with the psu, box and manual and a current doubler so it can be used with a different psu. I've been using it with my onespot cs6 with no issues. I'd consider any trades, but mostly looking for nice envelope filters, high-end preamps and Origin Effects Super Vintage Bass rig (the blue one). It's still on my pedal board, I won't reset it, so it'll come with some patches I bought online and the most recent firmware. Edit to say will post within the UK, for £10. I'd rather not post outside the UK.

  6. I will! What about the 2 Notes Le Bass? Any opinions on that? I'm thinking of ordering the Noble but picking up a used Le Bass to use until it arrives. I'd like a clean valve tone, so perhaps the EBS valve drive will be a bit too dirty? I like the look of the Capo, but it's a bit out of budget to get one of those and order a Noble...
  7. Not sure who was comparing the HX stomp and the Noble preamp, I mentioned them together because I'm a fan of Ian Allison's sound and he uses both with great results. I've had the HX stomp for a few months, I spent a long time setting up patches and deciding what would work for me, only to have none of it work on an actual gig. I decided lots of mini pedal boards would be the most versatile to get me going, with a few songs dialed in with their own patch. Neither worked for me because the tone and volume of each effect seems different in my amp, iems and DI. I'm sure I could figure it out, but it happens with "normal" pedals too, they are just easier to adjust on the fly. I make synthy sounds out of fuzz/od, octave, envelope filters, chorus and an ehx bass mono synth. Whatever isn't working on a gig can be messed with or turned off during a song/gig, I just don't see a way a HX Stomp can be quite as simple for me. I was using a boss switching/fxloop pedal so I could program patches, but still access the individual pedals during a gig. I don't know how I expected to improve on that to be honest. I was planning on using the amp sims once I was used to the fx, but if I can't manage the fx I think amps will be way too much for me. I have a Genzler Magellan that sounds great, and if I want an SVT sound I think a sansamp or Origin effects bass rig might work better for me because I can use my tow to adjust rather than a computer.
  8. I didn't know you had one. Hmmmm, that's interesting. I'm going to order one next week. I figure if I don't like it I won't have any trouble selling it.
  9. I put the HX Stomp on my board last week, I did a get gigs with it this week and I'm really not convinced. I spent ages making some patches that sounded great at home, and at the gigs they've sounded too tippy and much louder. If that was a pedal I could quickly nudge it, but that's not really possible with the Hx. What's everyone's thoughts on the Le Bass. I'm about to pull the trigger on ordering a Noble preamp. Should I save money (and 10 months) and pick up a 2 notes?
  10. Just got an EBS wah/volume from markstuk and I've rejigged the board. It's changing a lot just now as I get used to the Line 6 HX stomp xl. I think it's getting there.
  11. I'll take the wah/volume if it's still available. PM incoming.
  12. I'm currently using a Digitech bass multi chorus. I'm in a wedding band and it only gets used for 80s rock, (sweet child o mine, don't stop believing etc) and it sounds great, or more accurately it sounds the right kind of bad. It's been getting noisier over the last few months though, so it's probably time for a new one. What should I get? I don't use chorus in any band apart from the wedding band, so I don't want to spend too much and it needs to have a certain amount of cheesiness with absolutely no subtlety. I'm thinking about the TC Corona, because I can get lots of choruses with tone print, Boss because there are loads of them around or another Digitech because I know it works. What else should I be considering?
  13. My first gig with both cabs, I have iems and a big PA, so this is clearly overkill, but it sounds amazing.
  14. Turns out I didn't hesitate to buy off Dave again. Just got a second Genzler cab, again, totally perfect cab, fast delivery and all round very nice guy.
  15. Just bought a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 off Andy, pleasure dealing with him. Great communication and arrived well packed and very quickly.
  16. Has anyone actually tried this yet? I use a Magellan and I love the drive, but I also have fuzz and distortion on my board, so this might be redundant, but I'm really tempted.
  17. What's the nut width? Thanks.
  18. Chris bought my Barefaced BB2 recently. It was a thoroughly pleasant transaction, great communication throughout. Enjoy the cab.
  19. Met Kev in a garage carpark today to buy a KK Babybass after he kindly agreed to meet me half way between Newcastle and Edinburgh. A very nice man indeed, despite me bombarding him with questions. I suppose I have to learn how to play it now.
  20. Sorry for taking so long to reply, I really don't spend enough time here. The spacings are all the same as a Musicman Stingray 5 string. It 17mm at the bridge (I think) and I'm not sure what the nut is, but it was all measurements taken from my Stingray. I'm still gigging this constantly, I got back to playing weddings in May and I've been busier than ever since June. The only bad thing I can say about this bass is the finish is too robust. It's a nitro finish and it just refuses to wear or discolour apart from a small spot where I anchor my thumb. I really can't recommend McIntyre guitars enough.
  21. I've been using a Barefaced BB2 for a while now, and I was happy enough with it, but I decided to try the Genzler 12-3 slant for a change. Partly because I love my Magellan 800 head, partly because I was interested in the line array and mostly because one appeared for sale when I had some money. I don't want to be negative about the Barefaced cab, it is a monster, but there is something much more focused about the Genzler. The lows are less wooly and the top is less brittle. The Barefaced moved more air, that's not really an issue for my main gig, but I think I will buy another Genzler cab soon. I still prefer my EBS Proline 410, but it's not really a fair fight because that weighs 8 tons and takes up most of the average wedding venue which is my usual gig. Anyway, I like the Genzler rig a lot, it's perfect for my gig. Also, by total chance it was a really good fit for the flight case I've had stashed in the garage for years, just needed to be cut down slightly. Sorry for the dodgy gig pics.
  22. Dropping the price to £100, not desperate to sell, but I'm not gonna use it and it would be good of someone could.
