  1. ive had my 300smx head from new and i wont ever sell it, i used to have a very clean sound and never tweaked the graphic much,i dont think it ever needed to go above 3 on the volume when i used to gig it. it was paired with an ampeg 1510 cab and i really used to love the sounds i could coax from it.

  8. you can always buy a lighter cab to go with it i have an ah300smx and its the best bass head ive ever owned its heavy but the old ampeg 1510 cab i used to use with it was the heavier part of the set up for £60 i wouldnt think twice

  10. cheers Paul any feedback is always welcome the composition competition is brilliant you can drop in or out when you have time and inclination and everyone is always striving to improve on there last composition which can only be a good thing so well done to whoever thought it up.

  14. i had a 70s eb3 had that distinct sound but i just could'nt get on with the neck dive, although i dont know if they all do it
  15. i bought a japanese made sr1000e off ebay last week really nice bass dimarzio pickups. powercurve I eq. ash body with ebony fretboard and gotoh fittings
  16. good to see Marco here and passionate about his brand. I've never tried a markbass amp or cabinet i would be more inclined now after seeing this thread.
  17. I know what you mean my main bass for years have always been precisions. Im not sure of the differences between the 800 although this one has dimarzios as std and later 1000e's had emg's i think
  18. i have a sr505 that i really like so thought a 4 string soundgear would be a nice addition and i would never have had the money for one back in the 80s
