1. The 5 String set of these has a "136" low-B. How are these big hummers fitting in the nut, is everyone having to file a huge slot or you getting by without nut surgery? "that sounds bad don't it?"
2. It looks right on the Dingwalls, but that's about it.
3. I love Leds, in fact I have Led side dot markers on a @20year old bass and I can honestly say that they are extemely handy when your hiding at the back of the dark stage, the front ones are a different story though. Tell that guitarist if he needs you to have front Leds then he needs to commision you "and pay for" a new bass with them built in, maybe a Sei or a Status etc. etc? That'll find out "exactly" how keen he is on the idea
4. Nice wood staining job, it sure makes my garden shed look pretty
5.
This one
yeah
6. Bit of gossip going on at the moment over on TB, all about a 62 Jazz that's up for $20,000
7. As new, except it's not in the blister pack, "that got binned after we had a great 20 minute fight that I won BTW. " These cables are supposed to be pretty good, it is a bit on the stiff side but a lot of these "decent" cables are and this is a straight jack to a straight jack one. The cable has only been used indoors a few times. The reason I'm shifting it, is because I can't use it with my Sei bass, which has a socket that is recessed into an XLR socket, very cool indeed but the moulded plug on this cable is too fat to fit it - doh. So I reckon if anybody wants one, £25 inc postage is the deal.
8.
Beautiful bass mate
Thanks
9. I've just had read and I've not much to add except that, if the ethics bug you don't buy.
10. Here's my old gall, 1993 vintage.
11. How does my bass sound guys?...... Lovely Bottom.......
12. Thanks for the nod, but that sounds a bit iffy?
13. Just wondering if anybody knows of a bass tutor in this area? I'm just contemplating the idea of having lessons so the details of teachers is a good starting place.
14. Headless, they fit in a "lighter" guitar case for a start
15. Thanks for the tips guys, It would seem I pretty much had it sussed out. Now I know I'm doing the right thing, I'll keep at it. Ta
16. I'm still a bit new to this "B-String" thing, so please be gentle with me. I have a question about the right-hand technique. First I'll explain how I play a 4-string. I rest my thumb on the E-string and rather automatically, my thumb moves to rest on a pick-up when I need to play the E. With my 5-string, I now rest the thumb in the B-string unless I'm playing it, so same technique, just a different string OK. So the issue then... I'm noticing "open E-string" noise now and then, "obviously" because I don't have my thumb resting on it, keeping the sucker quiet. Do I just modify my technique, so that I still rest my thumb on the E-string? this way the side of the thumb also mutes the B? or am I missing a trick or two here? Cheers
17. Great guy to deal with, bought a gigbag off me.
18. http://www.wood-data...dwoods/bubinga/ Quite heavy, my Sei is Wenge, Bubinga & Cocobolo all of this is some weighty wood, but it's a small body size so it's not so bad
19. Lovely bass indeed, rear neck shot reminded me of this just a wee bit.
20.
....along with much of the rest of the finish.
White Spirit should be OK, your thinking of Thinners
21. You still got some debating eh?, the EAD looks awesome, the S12T gets good feedback, the Neox 2x12 gets no mentions but it is probably the best value. Vanderkley also do a lightweight 600Watt 2x12" now, but I don't think its going to be the cheapest? Whatever you decide you should go listen first, "IMHO" I don't think you can go far wrong with the GB 2x12, but you need to go try it. Have fun choosing.
