1. How does them fingers on your left hand go when you spread them?
2. Good point, do the valves have retaining clamps
3. White screen print and a metal power switch would improve it's looks IMO too, but I guess we can't have everything?
4. So wanting this RJ, but I'll be waiting to see how much the 800W version is going to be? The only concern with that is the 500W version may be better because it might just be a wee bit warmer that the new class D version? Why do they keep making my GAS so difficult eh?
5. Every bass I have ever tried has head dive to some small degree or more, except my Sei headless.
6. Weighs nothing and can bring a ceiling down. Size is 20"x16"x16". I have a pair of the lower powered ones and love them.
7. SoundsLive (Online peeps) have been helpful on the phone, prices are good too, but I'm having second thoughts about making an actual purchase now. (one is looming BTW)
8. Just wait for a Shuttle to appear in the FS section, with your TTE you then got both worlds covered. I got a Shuttle 9.0 that your welcome to try it for the price of a trip down the M4
9. Can you not get an XLR to 6.3mm jack plug lead, then just plug it into a tuner? OK you won't be able to DI-out at the same time. Something like this? http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/classic-xlr-to-6.3mm-jack-lead-black-1.5-metres.html
10. Having a sort out, so I have this "Unused" 5-string set of DR Nickel Plated Sunbeams, they are brand new and "I believe" are quite low-tension strings and are supposed to be pretty good. I have moved away from Roundwounds, so have no desire to even try them. I had a quick look on the web and the cheapest I found these was £35.50. So how's about £25 delivered and thier yours?
11. The one's in the photo's was specially made for them photo's, the one they send you, is most likely just that cardboard box. TBH, I think it looks absolute cr*p and I expect it sounds equally as good. Unfortunatly I don't think it's illegal to be making fake stuff in the land of sh*te products <read China>.
12. Simple question, but I don't know the answer. How do I know if my Jazz bass has a 60's or 70's pickup positions?
13. GB Shuttles do "clean" pretty good
14. I used to wire up the old GPO telephone exchanges so I know a thing about neat wiring & cabling. You have wiring OCD and I mean that in a very positive way. Whats the size of the 200W one then? Is it the usual 22" wide or more? I wish these all-valve amps would be made under 19" then they would look OK sat on top a lot more of the cabs made "that's my OCD kicking in now" Did I say "what lovely amps"
15. Yep, take the Shuttle into a shop to test drive some cabs
16. I'm so close to pulling the pin on this one, I need something for those warmer sounds again and this seems to fit the bill. Currently using STL900, but the valve ain't very warm is it?, awsome for the crispy stuff though. I'd love a "full" valve jobbie but it's going to be too clumsy & heavy for me as I have serious back issues, so I'm not able to go there. Also before you start shouting "STM900" "STM900", I've already tried one and it was not quite what was hoping for. Would love to hear opinions from actual TTE users, all the good stuff and the stuff you hate. I'll be using a 5-string with it, so extreme bottom end clarity will be important to me. Thanks and over to you.....
17. Good to hear, let us know what you replace it with please?
18. I had a Custom Sound combo, it got cut in half to be a seperate cab & head and used for foldback, it's still going today, being used for dance classes. It did not sound too bad at low volumes, better that the Laney POS combo I had too.
19. It should be fine, just don't run the amp full on flat out, use your ears to make sure the cabs don't run into distortion and farting and no showing off how loud it goes stuff, that'll blow the cabs for sure
20.
I'm jealous of his legs. >.> But if he's half as pretty under that mask as I imagine him to be, goddamn, he'd be perfect. There aren't enough pretty guys who play bass. No offence chaps.
Right on, but it's probably a beard under there BTW, It's not a snare in the first one, it's a bin lid
21. Sounds good, I wonder if Nordstrand have left some extra "B" room?
