Hello Alex and everyone, I'm considering making my own lightweight Neodymium speaker loaded 2x10" cab (maybe plus a tweeter) mainly for practicing, as I'm sick of carrying a TE 4x10" upstairs! Really like the design of the Epifani UL-210, Accugroove Tri 210L and Eurphonic Audio NL-210 (covered on the talkbass 'Neodymium “Light-weight” Speaker Cabinet Review’) I've got a friend who's a carpenter who owes me a favour-so he'll make the cab (this once) -just got to give him a design? I've been looking for designs does anyone know of any out there? I have seen Greenboy's fEarful cab designs on talkbass and bill fitzmaurice's designs, but there doesn't seem to be a 2x10" design- I guess there is a technical reason for that? Not fussy about speakers, whichever suits the design, I guess ideally Celestion or Eminence Neodymium? I've read a suitably designed and tuned 12mm ported ply cab with lots of internal bracing is the way forward-he can get the wood trade price (but which kind of ply?) Any ideas, thought or general feedback would be great. This is just a one off (I'm useless with wood, and favours only go so far!) I'll be sure to post all the design and build pictures on basschat Cheers Neil

For what it's worth.... my advice would be the FULLTONE BASSDRIVE. I've got the non MOSFET version and am really enjoying it ( paid £90 on FleaBay). I've spent five years trying to find a good, but subtle bass overdrive and the FULLTONE ticks all the boxes, I play a trio and just need some mid bass drive when the singer guitarist is soloing to fill out the sound. I'd really recommend trying one, pretty veratile OD- they're not too cheap new ~£150- but they often come up on basschat and Fleabay. Cheers Neil

Lovely basses, good luck with the sale.I've got the same early 90's MIJ natural P-bass, they're great well worth the money. It must be gutting-I've also had to sell basses to survive! What are the house repairs? Sounds serious.. Think I'd sell the house rather than part with my basses again... Cheers Neil.

Hi everyone, Up for sale is my Roland SC-55 (Sound Canvas) GS MIDI synth module from around 1991, Made in Japan. I haven’t used this for some time, it was part of my home studio. It’s got some serious user editing functionality for sounds, though I’ve never explored that and kept to the factory presets.I’ve used this fair bit and everything works as it should. Its got some very usable sounds including good pads and string sounds. It is reasonable condition for its age, scratches on the top surface-an ideal cheap sound module solution, just add a MIDI keyboard. Comes with DC power supply and remote control plus three comprehensive user manuals. Like all old synths and sound modules, these are now becoming collectable, there loads of info about them on the net. Brief Spec:- • Half rack size unit • 24-voice polyphony with 16-part multi-timbrality. • Unit features 317 instrument patches, including the GS drum kits and additional controllers. • Selection of effects includes reverb and chorus. • Large display screen showing all MIDI channels, sound info etc • Front panel MIDI in,1/4” headphone jack and Volume control • Rear panel MIDI in/out and through, L/R in/out phono and 9V DC power input I’m looking for £75 delivered from a Basschatter, Seen them go for a bit more on Fleabay Cheers Neil

Hi Everyone, Got a load of lighting connectors I picked with a job lot at the booty last week, I took the audio connectors I wanted. I hate to throw stuff, but doubt I ever user use these:- -3m of multicore with a 8 way bulgin plug on the end. -4 loose solder male connectors. -8 loose solder females. All used but probably useful to someone into lighting or wants 250V 6A rated 8 way connectors. Free collection from Bristol or say £5 via paypal to cover postage and messing about. They're these £5 each new!!...yikes :- http://www.parcans.co.uk/acatalog/Lighting_Connectors.html Cheers Neil P.S The Soulvents on tour:- www.myspace.com/thesoulvents

Hi, Yes I think thats right. The SVT -410HLF is also the only single (smallish!) 4 ohm cab in the range I'm also frustrated as I need single 4 ohm cab for my SVT amp, I wish some of thier other cabs were 4 Ohm. or the SVT amps has a 8 Ohm output tap for more versatility. Cheers Neil
