1. My main project is kind of stoner rock sort of stuff and I'd probably strip down to: Blackstar HT-Dual (two channels, so can cover overdrive and distortion) Foxrox Octron Messdrive or Russian Big Muff for fuzz EHX Memory Man with Hazarai But I would really miss my Marshall Guvnor, Snarling Dogs Mold Spore and Bugbrand Weeviliser Extreme.

Unibass

Think Mr Foxen was suggesting using the GT2 with the Unibass (as this is what I was doing up until recently with his GT2).
3.
I'd love to see a sofa in a jiffy bag
I may very well be interested, we only have a crappy futon in our living room at the moment which is really uncomfortable. Would need measurements though as most sofas won't fit through our door (hence the futon which can be taken to pieces).
4. Why? Don't have that many problems really. Had a problem with one of the Guvnors on the last tour but fixed now, thats it really. Love it to bits at the moment, really pleased with the newest additions, the Foxrox Octron and Blackstar HT Dual.
5. Rigs gone through a few changes and expansions recently Sunn 1200s, DBX 160x and Aphex 204 - 2x Aguilar GS412's Traynor YBA-200-2 and other side of Aphex - Ashdown ABM810 Sounds really quite monstrous.
6. Bit of an update: Needs a bit of a tidy up but don't see myself wanting much more at the moment. Wouldn't mind replacing the Octoplus with an Octabass at some point though.
7. This'll go to Ebay this week if it doesn't raise interest on here.
8. Interested in a swap for an Akai Unibass?
9.
I have an ABM 8x10. Not sure it kicks out the lows of the GS412s that I borrowed, but I haven't been running it with the same setup. Cpurse, you could run, say, to GS412s, and an ABM 8x10. Not sure what that would make you.
I'm right here.
10.
The mutt's nuts for bass cabs, guitar cabs, kick & brass (& great for some vocalists) is the Electro Voice RE20 (or RE27). Expensive but fantastic.
Oh yea, and this of course if you can afford it. Sometimes a bit cumbersome in front of cabs on tight stages though, but great in the studio.
11. I personally don't like Beta52's or D112's on bass cabs. Kick mics in general always seem too scooped to me and are often really mushy because of all the low boost they tend to have. Combine this with the exrta bass you tend to get from the close proximity needed on loud stages and you're often left with rumbly mush. I usually plump for a 57 or beta57 along with a di then roll off high end on the di and sometimes some low from the 57. My favourite all around dynamic mic for using by itself is the Beyer M88 though. Very well balanced to my ear so gets warm, uncoloured low end and sounds flat right up to the top end. They are absolutely fantastic and get some deservedly glowing reviews if you search around. Close second (sometimes preferred over the M88 but depends on situation) are the older Sennheiser MD421's. I work full time as a live sound engineer so have invested in a few mics for various purposes. Currently, I carry two Beta57's (I have several cabs which produce different signals) and an Audix D6 (which I have had some good results with) to gigs I play but an M88 and an old MD421 are on the shopping list.
12. Bump.
13.
Ok folks, sorry about this, but I'm holding on to this badboy. It just sounds too nice. I'd kind of forgotten how it sounded. Used it for band practice last night. Plus I still have to try it at 4 ohms, which should make it quite a bit louder. I'll sell something else instead, probably my minimark. Thanks everyone!
Valve amps put the same load out regardless of impedance I'm afraid, so it won't be any louder at 4 ohms. If you're running more cabs to get it down to 4 then it will still sound bigger anyway though.
14. Fantastic guy to deal with. Very kind (paid postage both ways on a trade deal) and very good communication. Highly recommended.
15. And replied.
16. Superb octave up + distortion effect for bass. You can also add a lower 4th or upper 5th with the second footswitch which you can select to be latching or non latching. Very well built pedal and lots of fun. If you really wanna make a racket try running it into a second amp! Boxed in good condition with the power supply. (Not my picture but will try and get one up shortly if required.) Prefer cash as I have some hefty bills looming but will consider trades for noisy pedals or possibly a very good octave down such as an EBS Octabass. SOLD
17. Interested in trades? Boxed Unibass for Pulse Synth?
18. I'll take it! PM'd.
19.
+1 from me. Bought a pedal from Pete, it was really well packaged and arrived really quickly. What more can you ask?
And again, great service from Pete. Thanks mate!
20. Sorry if my last post was really negative but I have put on lots of gigs as well as worked at thousands and know that at the moment most bands of this sort of size rarely pull enough people to cover the huge spiraling costs of putting them on. Depressing but true I'm afraid. Lots of these kinds of gigs run at a sometimes substantial loss.
21. Sooooo tempted by this. Am in Bristol too.
22.
four or five 300-400 people gigs
Sorry to be a bit of a killjoy but I find that highly doubtful. Have you ever put on a gig before?
