I bought it. The seller just refunded me as it was listed for her husband in error. Really annoying.
hey joe - yeah, was fearing that might be the case. i'm sure there's just about room for a little looper on my board as well.... unless.... what's the headrush like for tone-killing?!?
Haven't noticed a big issue with the Headrush, it's more the Boss and Digitech ones I reckon which have non bypassable instrument preamps which are crappy. Still haven't gotten hold of my mate who's borrowing my Headrush, will give you/Si a shout if she doesn't want it. Reckon you should give the Black Cat a go too, you may have lots of drive but the octave sound is pretty different and really cool. You're welcome to borrow it for a practice or something as it's just sat here not being used.

Or, come round and try this puppy out: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=80259

Try not to keep the looper in your chain the whole time unless you're using it loads in a set as they mess with your tone big time. Maybe get a bypass loop for it if possible.
Just quickly scanning through this, all I can assume is that as long as you want your bass to sound like a guitar then its fine to use guitar amps.
Or, if you use a bass amp as well you can sound like a bass and a guitar Rob, I don't want to even think about it for fear of gaining a reputation...
Bump for 2010... the rics gone, and i've fallen in love with the marshall mercury... so i'll keep that one. Looking for a JMP era (pref '79) Marshall 4x12 cab... and anything else vintage you have... Got various Vox, Guild, Gibson basses for trade... an ebony RD Artist, a Candy Apple Red Victory Custom, Hagstrom 8 string bass etc. Trades for vintage gear only please. Guitar, bass and amps all considered, the older the better.
Hmmmmmmmm.... I have a late 70's JMP cab. I'd kind of decided to keep it but may well be persuaded to part with it as I have too many 4x12's really anyway. Very interested in Guilds and RD's, particularly black ones. Linky here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=76684 It currently has Vintage 30's in but I still have the G12t-75's.
How many amps recording that album?
I just knew you'd come in with that. I swear I'm cursed but it has nothing to do with what I am using them for.

Got this in a trade a few weeks ago with The Twickerman on here and I just haven't really been using it as I have an octave up pedal I am really happy with (Foxrox Octron) and lots of fuzzes and distortions I can use with it to get the same sort of sounds this has. The original sale thread with pics is here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=75640 It's a really cool pedal and very hard to come by I think, sounds good with guitar as well but has a great bottom end for bass as you can mix your clean signal in with the effect. It's in the same condition as when I got it and has only been used for a couple of rehearsals. I'll take £100 posted for it or will consider trades for a true stereo reverb or delay pedal, a phaser or possibly other interesting fx.

Absolutely fine then. Why should it blow amps up? That's absolute rubbish as long as you're not trying to push loads of low end from it which you've already said you're not. I've been doing this for ages and it sounds great. Arguably not really required in a band with a big lineup though. I use my dual rig in a three piece stoner/metal/drone band and a four piece (drums/guitar/keys/bass) ridiculous prog/kraut type band and love it.
I have a Burman 502 for sale if anyone's interested. It's in very good nick and has just been serviced by Steve of Steve's Amps fame. I'm asking £450 & it's in Bristol
Ooooh. I'm in Bristol and don't remotely need it. Would love it though, trade for a 501 and cash?

Bit of a change around. That top Marshall cab is a standard size 70's 1960a. Funny how small it looks on top of the massive mf280b.

Empty Hayden 4x12 cab. I only bought it to rip the speakers out of and have no use for the cab. Pretty well made and quite lightweight. Few scuffs but pretty good nick overall. Still has all the wiring in and a Marshall style switching panel at the back which allows 16ohm/4ohm mono or 8ohm a side in stereo. All ready to pop new speakers in, no soldering required. Looks like this: £25 collected from Central Bristol. SOLD
hey guys, sorry for late reply been busy yeahh, we've done this. We used Reason to make the backing tracks, and then Cubase to make the click tracks we pan the click + backing track right (for the drummer) and then the backing track left (to go through the P.A) but the thing is, the click track on the right, spills a tiny signal over to the left, which goes through the P.A and since the P.A is at a loud volume, you can hear the spill really loud, too. Th spill sounds so crap too, like its isnt a copy of the sound on the right panned track, its all the little acoustic reverbs that spill onto the left track which sound really crap.. if anybody can let me know how to solve the spill entirely that would be great, because we have tried so many different things!
You need to mix it in dual mono. Sounds like you have stereo reverbs on the track which are going to both sides. Try using mono reverbs and make sure they're all panned to the left.

Friend of mine has a YBA-1 he runs through a Markbass 4x10 and it sounds massive, very loud and bassy.
