1. Hmmmm.... how exact are those measurements? I have something that will very nearly fit. Are they including foam?
2. Thats a freakin' bargain for the parts! Gutted I'm broke.
3.
If you have that large a budget why not go for the Eventide Timefactor. Its simply amazing! Also on the other delay post I have added a reply which breaks down a few different delays if you have a look.
Doesn't have reverb unfortunately, same prob with all the ones in the other post. Really looking for an all in one ambience solution.
4. Tried the DL4, close but no cigar. Had the considered the M9 but want to avoid it if possible due to my snobbyness about fx modelling. Too big really as well and don't need all the other stuff it does.
5. Hi there, hopefully someone can help me with my confused ambience needs. Right, what I am ideally looking for is an 'all in one' delay and reverb option that isn't massive and is true stereo in and out. At the moment I have a Boss RE-20 Space Echo, EHX MMWH and a Marshall reflector on my board and I can just about get the sounds I need out of them. However the RE-20 isn't true stereo and the Marshall is mono in. I could probably sort it with re-routing and bypass loops but am looking for suggestions of single pedals that may have what I need. As well as these pedals above I've been through the Boss DD6, DD7, DD-20 and Akai Headrush. My favourite delay pedal ever is the Deluxe Memory Man (original analog one) so something that can get those kinda sounds in stereo would be ideal. I need to be able to have 'trails' after bypassing the unit. If the RE-20 had savable presets, longer reverb and was true stereo it would probably do. I reckon if the Eventide Timefactor had reverbs that would probably be ideal. Would rather stay in pedal form but guess I could go rack if pushed although my amps don't have fx loops. Budget can stretch to £200/£300 I guess if really needed as I can raise that by selling my Headrush, EHX MMWH and RE-20. Hopefully that all makes some sense...
6.
Currently this one is interesting me.
Oooooh, hadn't seen that, looks tasty.
7. The Alesis is a good budget buy. If you can afford it though try and find a used DBX 166, great live comps.
8. I can vouch that this amp is extremely loud and a beautiful thing indeed.
9. I'll take the 4 JJ ecc83's and the Harma STR ecc83. PM coming your way.
10. Nice one, reckon thats a pretty good deal. They're great preamps, its the same as the one in my SVTII. I just put nos Philips and new Harma preamp valves in mine and am over the moon with them.
11. Really really tempted by this if it hasn't gone.
12. Hmmm... What are the measurements of the Kent Armstrong humbucker? Long shot but if it fits I'll take it.
13. Think thats a solid state one. Fairly nice amps I think if you're into that kinda thing, I'd say it's not worth more than about £300 or so unless you're a silly collector or something.
14. Just picked up a Pro501. Really pleased with it. Sounds amazing, really growly hooked up to Mr Foxen's ABM810. Still looking for a Pro2000 or Pro4000 though!
15.
run the master flat out and turn the input gain right down, the preamps are really hot on svt's and they tend to break up really quickly if your not careful with the input. Also you could try changed the first valve for a 12au7 or 12at7 to reduce the gain. svt's are really easy to bias yourself are both the bias lights on the back green?
Already had the master up full with the preamp as low as possible. No, the bias was out (red lights), guessing this is the issue really although perhaps the power valves are on their way out too. I already have a newish set of Harma 6550's to put in, hesitant to revalve and bias myself though. Is it really that simple? I kinda know how it's done but just not too confident and don't want to damage anything.
16. My one is one of the early 'pro' ones with blue lettering. Same internally to the last few non 'pro' ones I think.
17. Bugger. Just spoke to Watford Valves, spoke to an expert on Ampegs by the sounds of it. He reckons it's the power valves are either dud or need rebiasing Either that or the diodes have gone.
18.
How've you establish that it isn't speaker breakup? Guessing you are down to A, so your amp might be pushing stuff into your cab that its just not happy with. Even though its a beasty cab, there is stuff there below its port tuning which can upset it.
Because it wasn't nearly as loud as I've gotten with the Sunn and the peak led was lighting up. Gonna phone Watford Valves now.
19. Think the model SVTII I have has five 12ax7's and three 12au7's actually...
20. Cool, sounds like a plan! Thanks for your help.
21. How would they compare with the Philips I linked to above you reckon?
22. Does it still have the same output as a normal ECC83 though or is it lower gain on the way in and out? Basically, will it be quieter overall?
23. Think so yea. Can't actually look as it's tucked away in my rehearsal room unfortunately.
