I have one of these. Tends to be my main bass ahead of a Sandberg PM4 and a USA MM Sterling. Makes you struggle to get your head around the "cheapest bass is my favourite" syndrome......

Wireless is great! Wouldnt go back to cables now. Isolated from the mains. Can have a listen properly at soundchecks. Can go for a pooch around at big gigs. Not tangled up at tiny gigs. No accidental lead pulling out moments or leads going wonky cos theyve been trodden on or tripped over. I have a Sony DWZ system (£150) which has a bombproof metal transmitter and clip and a receiver the size of a boss effect that sits on my board powered from my Diago thingy. Bridge position is getting near a Stingray if you cut the mids, central is a bit more Fendery and neck position is much fatter and warmer.

I have a set of the nickels in 45/105 gauge. Popped them on the Musicman Sterling and took them off after one evening. Don't like them at all,sorry. They sound too blunt for my zingy taste. They're on the classifieds if anyone wants a cheap set.....

Class D definitely lacks slam in my experience. I swapped out a Genz Shuttle 9.2 head for a Gallien GT700RB and you can feel the GK rumble in your guts - the Genz couldnt generate that. I have the 700 in a rack along with a GK MBFusion so can compare both really easily at gig volume and the class D still doesnt have the depth and slam that the 700 has.

I thought the Prodigy were awesome - fantastic in your face set and great lightshow. The whole place was rocking. And I don't really like dance music much........ And re Noel - Mancs trying to be grumpy and sarcy just irritate me. Seen it all before many times. Sorry, not being Mancist

I have had a....... Zoom B9.1 - bought because it was being cleared out for £99 by a shop. Loads of fiddling fun but ultimately too bloody big, heavy and complex for what i wanted it for (a bit of compression,modulation and home practice). Zoom B1on - fantastic value and brill for home practice. Ok on stage if you dont need too many different patches. Plastic but feels pretty sturdy. Hard to see the display on stage. Zoom MS60B - awesome little box that lives on my pedalboard and provides everything i need in my covers band. The compressors and modulations are great, i dont use the distortions and the way you can set it up to add patches in to different songs is good. Easy to see the display on stage. You can combine 4 effects for each patch. You can just use a single effect/patch and switch it in using the footswitch or you can advance through patches A, B, C etc by a single press on the switch. I set A up as bypassed, B as a chorus, C as bypass, D as SVT sim, E as bypass, F as Dbx compressor and just press once as i go thru the set when i come to a song that needs an effect. Iist - you get the idea. Recommended bit of kit and small too. You can usually pick them up for about 50 quid from this site.
