1. Sold a Brown Dog gated fuzz pedal to Pete this week. Great chap to deal with, no fuss at all. Recommended! Mike
2. Thanks for the suggestions, chaps. I think I'll take a look at the EBS and the Digitech but keep those suggestions coming in! Mike
3. There is one song in the set my band, The Hops, plays in which I use a tremolo once for one verse. The excellent EHX Stereo Pulsar I use for that part is unfortunately taking up much needed space on my pedalboard. I use chorus for a couple of songs and was wondering if any of you fine, fine people knew of a chorus pedal which I could get away with using as a tremolo for that one song part when we play it live? Cheers, Mike
4. Bought a 105q Wah pedal off Bob. Arrived quickly and well packaged. Bob is a great guy to deal with, no fuss at all and highly recommended. Mike
5. Check out The Sensual Everafter on The Rainbow Children album. Prince plays a bass solo on there. I'm not a big fan of bass solos but this is something else. Its not flash or brash; its just wonderful and uplifting as is the whole track. Not only good choice of notes but great tone too (and subtle effects). Treat yo ears! Larry Graham played bass on The Work. Mike
6. Just bought a Boss ODB-3 from Trev. Well packaged and delivered swiftly. Top bloke to deal with. Recommended. Cheers, Mike
7. I am of old-fartitude enough to have seen them on the Mother's Milk tour at the Apollo in Manchester, 1990. Stood, kind of, and moshed, in front of Flea who was on fire. Actually, the whole band was. And I saw them again this Wednesday at the O2, and I was sat way up high and sat back and watched and took in a great show, bar the technical hitches which actually gave way to lots of jamming, which I liked a lot but the crowd, which I had a great view of, would go flat. Give It Away was amazing with the heaviest ending I've heard for years, I think Flea was using his B*Assmaster. They're still one of my favourite bands.
8. Cheers man, it is indeed a great pedal. Now open to offers, or rather specifically a 105Q Dunlop Wah pedal.
9.
Tony Levin on Peter Gabriel's 'Don't Give Up.'
Absolutely - listening to it now. The bass on the whole album sounds great.
10. Gunsfreddy2003, Try one, buy one! It can do synthy. I think it sounds amazing and I've been through a few octave pedals and while I keep my OC-2 in the effects loop of my 3Leaf GR2 the BOD is my 'main' octave pedal. Go for it. Mike
11. Gunsfreddy2003, Try the MXR Octave Deluxe pedal. I play my 74 Jazz through mine and, having tried numerous octave pedals, this is by far the most consistent and reliable for live playing that I've found. It also records very well. Most importantly, it sounds fantastic. Mike
12. Scott Thunes and Cardiacs on the same thread. Winner. Anyhoo, about Scott's sound; "Yes, I used a flanger on stage. I was this cheezy little thing I got from Pia Vai, right after she was fired from Vixen (before they got big, but after a couple of years of touring military bases)". Jim Smith's sound on Sing To God is also a favourite.
13. Hi Jim, I already own a Boss TU-2, thanks. So I'd rather sell for cash. A EHX bass nano what? You don't say. Cheers, Mike
