1. I popped in there about 18 months ago with a £1500 budget looking for a bass. The guy was a misserable sod, made me feel like I was in his way. I ended up looking on eBay.

Mistakes

I once made a terrible mistake! It was solved with a divorce.
3. A bass day sounds good. I'm also in Essex but the posh part. It's called Dagenham (buy one, get one free!)
4.
31/12/2003 ?!?
Oops! I never noticed that! I will have to give him a call. Cheers for that.
5. Here is an update. I have filled out the claims form and the guy has kindly sent me pics of the amp.
6. A funny time for us is when the singer came in a bar too early. We all laughed at him which really pi$$ed him off. Then him being quick thinking put his hand up and said, "....and a big hand for the band!" with the hand in the air he did a w@nker sign. With my very little experience. if someone goofs-up just carry on and not to make a big deal out of it and the chances are the crowd wont notice as much.
7. Great playing! It was good to watch. The sound quality was nice too! -1 about the bathrobe though. I really like the sound of your bass, what were the settings to get that sound?
8. Hey Guys. how y'all gettin' on with it?
9. I can't send to gmail accounts - it rejects the attatchment.
10. Well, I've seen the one and heard the one! http://www.mcintyreguitars.com/tele_pbass.htm
11.
Is it just for 4 stringers???
Nah, for six stringers too! I have emailed a few guys, let me know if you get it or not.
12. I have it, if anyone wants a copy I can email it to them. It does work, it's a lot more easier thank you think.
13. Played Drums in a couple of bands, really liked it but as time went on, I was getting more fed-up with the amount of gear I had to carry and set up. Practicing was also difficult too. I've always admired the bass, I grew up in the 80's with the Soul, Funk & dance. Always loved the sound of the sound of the occasional pick of a bass string enhancing a funky drum beat. I bought a Yamaha RBX774 off eBay and never looked back. Mind you, my girlfriend isn't always pleased when we are walking around the shops together and she can tell I just want to hurry and go home to play bass.
14. Since seeing the post with the video clip of Paul Turner in Jamiroquai playing Runaway I am going bananas trying to learn it. The Tascam Bass trainer is a Godsend, I can only play the song slowed down
15. I sold an Ashdown 2X10 Combo MAG on eBay and posted it to Ireland. It took slightly longer thean expected. I took it to the depot on Saturday, it arrived today (Thursday). The guy rang me to say that the head section has broken away from the main cab section and obviously it doesn't work. I rang the courier straight away who tell me it shows on there system that it's not delivered yet. Anyway, they said that I am insured and they will send me out a claims form as it was insured. I have refunded the guy in Ireland. Now I have to wait for the form and proceed with claiming. Has anyone got advice for me to ensure it goes smoothly.
16.
I'm looking for a new bass amp and keep finding lots of Warwick ones about. They all seem to be pretty powerful, but do they sound any good? It's Profets and X-tremes mainly that I've found. I think I tried one before, but I can't be sure, it was borrowed from a promoter and I was a little bit drunk at the time, so I have very little recollection of the sound it produced. Any help?
Are you looking for a head unit or combo? If you want a combo what speaker preference? 8's, 10's, 12's ect. Whats your budget?
17. If we had an ideal world we would spend small fortunes on out basses and amps. But, would the crowds notice the difference, if they did, would it really be worth it? As a mobile disco DJ I've used good gear and crap gear. The results are pretty much the same. I've had good and not so good gigs with both.
18. Yep, she sure looks hot. There's something very sexy about a woman who has the same interests as the bloke. This goes for Motorbikes, Gym, Bass ect. (or even the new girl at work or next door)
19. Glimour, I'd give you some headache tablets but I need them all
20. Well thanks folks for you help and advice. I bought this off the bay. I had a few minor issues but I really like this amp. It's loud with lots of bottom end and portable. Thanks again. Here is a few pics.
21. I ordered a spare mixer (from eBay) as I had a lot of discos over the Xmas period. Yesterday made 3 weeks without a delivery I got a reply saying the he was ill with the virus/bug that loads of us are getting and it was posted yesterday. eBay gets a lot of bad press but it is only as good as the people who use it. I wish you luck.
22. I have just got this from eBay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=016 At first I thought I'd got a bargain. but when it arrived it was in this condition. It was very dirty. The pots were slightly gritty. The head needed a wipe down to remove the dirt. The pots were all in need of tightening. The mains lead was missing. When I emailed him to say about the lead this is his actual reply, " you just require a normal kettle lead type . csnt find the one that i had with the amp soz " Me, being a silly bugger gave him feedback and asked him to do the same, he didn't. When I looked at his feedback, he hasn't given out feedback to other eBayers.
23.
Dont see why you cant just use your big rig and make liberal counter-clockwise modifications to the volume knob. Some of the amps on your list are HUGE and heavy, certainly not portable. What is your big rig anyway? And what do you really want this new amp to do that your current amps dont?
My big rig is a David Eden WT500 with David Eden cabs 1X12 & 4X10 I'm using an Ashdown MAG C210 Combo for practice. It's sounds great, nice bottom end but it's just a bit too heavy to keep on dragging it out from the shed when I wanna play. With the handles on the side I can't carry it with one hand. I guess you may suggest that I just use the Eden head and the 1X12 cab. The head is in a flight case with other bits & bobs in it so that is a bit of a pain to carry.
24. Gone...... Pending collection.
25. One of my basses is a Warwick Covette in Bubinga. I really like the look of the same bass in Ash. What's the difference in the sound?
