1. Hi John, how much did it cost to have the PUPs fitted?
2. I have a Hartke A100 combo all works well. The only querry I have is that there is a Thud sound when I turn the amp off or on even with the volume turned right down. It's enough to move the speaker about 5mm. Is this OK?
3. This really hurts to let go but I just cant get used to the wide neck. The bass is mint no scratches vitually no fret wear. The bass has been professionally set-up my Chris at Mcyntyre Guitars www.mcintyreguitars.com Come with Musicman hardcase Collection only as I want to hand it over in it's mint condition. The Transluciant Orange with matching headstock is rare and I have never seen the scratchplate on any other orange Musicman. I'm asking for £850
4. That's a lot of strings! Does it come with instructions?
5. I won this on eBay today. I will use the good bits and ditch the rest. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N:IT&ih=019 Also put a set of flatwounds and nut. Maybe change the bridge depending on costs.
6. If that happened to me I would have to pinch myself to make sure I hadn't fallen asleep and started dreaming. I love my MIA Deluxe but it's left me wanting a P bass to keep it company. Judging by the amount of GAS we all have on here only one more bass just isn't enough
7.
personally, I'd put a BADASS II on, either seymour duncan quarter pounders or EMGs, a black pickguard (but tort would look good, too) and put a fender logo on. EDIT: acidbass, just read your suggestion for a thumbrest. that wouldn't be a bad idea either.
How much would that cost?
8. I was given this Westfield Bass broken. I've fixed and it works fine. I love the true P bass sound or a similar Thick chunky thud of a bass. What would you change? The bass doesn't stand me in for a penny and at the end of the days it's a cheap bass so it aint gonna sound great. We all love pics so here she is.
9.
I'd much rather buy in stores if possible, even if it costs extra. The only time I'd make an exception is for real budget stuff (under £150) where its worth a gamble. For example, I'd rather spend £700 in store than £600 online. There's a number of reasons for this. Firstly, QC - i like to play the exact bass I'll be taking home and I find quality can vary across all brands. Secondly, the desire to support retailers. I like music shops, I'd like them to keep trading. I demonstrate this by putting my money where my mouth is and purchasing from them! Thirdly, I like the personal touch. Its nice to be able to take something back to a shop if there's an issue. Fourthly, £100 really isn't that much in the grand scheme of things! Its strange really, a lot of people are very specific about the origins of products (buying fair trade coffee, avoiding using supermarkets if they can by the produce from a local independent store) but will happily use a music shop to try and then opurchase online seperately. I can understan why, but as I say, its not really my thing. As long as these people don't complain when a music shop shuts down, then I'm not really bothered either way. Sanctimonious?? Me??
+1 from me. Yeah, I know there would be the odd comment reminding me that I have spent too much but it's not easy to put a price on, "Peace Of Mind" There's also a chance of getting a few extras thrown in like leads and stuff. There is a nice, "Feel Good" factor when buying in shops too.
10.
Hey man, Just in case no one else has said it: If you get a 210 combo, you could always get a fifteen (if that's what you want) later on and put it underneath. That way you should get the full power of the amp and a choice of tone. If you're in the cheap second-hand market, you'll be able to swap small cabs around with very little money loss. That way you can see what suits you when you come to upgrading. 'Though, money and music style is an important factor.
I'd also say the 2X10 combo then add a 1X15 if needed later.
11.
PS. Nice Stingray. What'd you need another bass for?
Yeah it looks nice, it sounds nice too. I cant get on with the thick neck. I am selling it if anyone is interested.
12.
As Johhnylager mentioned, the MIA Jazz with S-1 series/parallel switching is very good & the P-bass effect you get with the pickups in series mode is quite astounding.
I have a MIA Deluxe, would that do?
13.
P bass with J neck
Is the neck pocket the same size?
14. I want to get a P Bass, I like the sound of them but when I tried them out I just could not get used to the thicker neck. Any suggestions guys?

I'm also interested in this post as I may be selling my 3eq MM (see my avatar). It would be good to see how much they are going for.
16. Go for that Jazz, you could always upgrade the PUP's later
17. No offence to you my friend but that was really boring.
18. On here we are all Shiny Happy People. When I've been to the Bass Centre & Gallery I've had a few chats with other bass players. Everytime, I go into music shops that cater for all instruments there always seems to be an uncomfortable atmosphere with other bass players. It just doesn't seem as friendly. Anyone else agree?
19. Sorry guys to be a thickie but I've been drooling over Funkysimon's P Bass. How does the thumb rest work when it's below the strings?
20. Hey while we are on about learning songs, don't you find it anoying when you learn a sing only to find the singer wants to change the key? Ahhh!
21. Not much price difference with the 350 and 1000.
22.
Nice one, must be something in the water. Ive bought a Yammy 5 for £110 tonight.
I'm feeling a bit jealous, as i also am looking out for a nice P bass - Looks great!
23.
Still don't know. I am waiting to find out what they want me to do.
Freaky stuff, I got the check through this morning! They did not refund me the postal charges though. I will ring them and ask why. Perry
24.
So if you get paid out, you get the money back and he keeps the amp which is a reasonably easy fix, or has he sent it back to the courier company? Hamster
Still don't know. I am waiting to find out what they want me to do.
