1. Cheers! It really is good value, Owned a good few basses but never had one without a solid finish before It just feels so good! Don't know if its because of the plek fret job but Ive never had such a low action buzz free setup, the videos of the Machine in action are pretty neat.
2. Nice choice, dont see many Reflxes around, surprising given that they look and sound amazing!
3. A week sounds about right, that's roughly how long it took me to get comfortable going from a Jazz to a Stingray.
4. My new bass turned up today, Sandberg California TM4, the old shape, which might explain why the price was so good. Righty and lefty models were around £750 at Thomann and I couldn't turn it down at that price. Finish is black burst, looks a bit lighter in the pics and I like it a lot more than I thought I would, especially with so much of the grain coming through. I also really like the nice clean look of the fretboard without markers. The setup was surprisingly good out of the box, lovely action and no buzzing and there are so many usable tones, neck pickup has a nice modern jazz feel and the MM has bags of punch to back it up, or you can run that in single coil mode to complement the neck pickup nicely. Then you've got passive mode which tames it a bit but still has more punch than I'm used to with the passive basses I've had before.
5. Mine was delivered this morning, have to say it was worth the wait, I've had issues with Thomann delivering used/slightly damaged gear before but this is flawless. Hope everyone elses stuff is turning up now!
6. Balls! I totally forgot this was today, would definitely have liked a mooch
7. Surprised to see that my item was "Received in destination country" at 6PM today, wasn't expecting any movement over the weekend. Updated via the parcel force site, not Thomann.
8. Wow, the new Lull is lovely! but your other one is one of the nicest basses I've ever seen, absolutely adore the finish, they make a stunning pair
9. I imagine they'll mention the dhl strike which probably left a pretty big backlog and that there isn't anything they can do at this point. All we can do is wait, though it is nice to have this thread, share the annoyance with likeminded BC'ers
10. Took a few days before the parcel force site worked with my reference. Seems my item went from dhl to parcel force at 1am tuesday. I could have walked further than it's moved in five days
11. That's one of the numerous mistypes I've entered while getting to this site, also asschat and hatchat, not quite as cute as basscat!
12. I was actually starting to look at flights to go and get the gear myself
13. Not interested in any of the streaming services until they start paying the artists a fair share. Until that happens I'll keep buying the old fashioned way.
14. Haven't got a clue but I'm incensed! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!
15. Balls! I was excited to see the bass I ordered yesterday had just gotten to Köln. Then I spotted this thread I wish I wasn't so childishly impatient!
16. Wow, always amazed by this guys work, does the sound compensate for the 'made in a prison wood working class' looks?
17. Only one, narrowly missed out on a couple more. Some effects and a car stereo as well, all of which were great trouble free purchases.
18. I expected to have to replace the one I had but was very impressed with it when I got it. Very decent bag for the price.
Apparently Sandberg prices are due to drop! Due to the Euro...must be a first in a long time to see a price drop on new instruments.
I've ordered one this morning, the price was just stupidly good and I'm so bloody excited!
19.
When I got home I had a PM informing me that generally everyone on BC are really good guys and a pleasure to meet. I was, I was told, not one of them. I was the scum of the earth and should hang my head in shame.
Wow, that really does surprise me, even more so than the OPs issue. The nerve of some people! As has been said, the deal isn't done until the money changes hands and it's not as if you wasted their time making them travel for the meet. Really boils my p*ss when someone acts like that much of an arse whilst still thinking they're in the right. Sold a bass recently, halfway meet and was entirely happy to come home with it if the seller wasn't happy with it. I'd rather find another buyer than have someone feel obliged to buy something they don't want.
20. You're always going to get the odd seller that messes you around, don't understand waiting as long as he did only to let you down though. Only bad experience I've had was with an poor item description, I think the BC'er only joined to sell a couple of items as I don't think he's posted since. Bass was described as mint condition, needed a new machine head, battery box was broken, couple of nice dents and screws missing in a few places. My other dealings with BC members have resulted in great gear at good prices and the guys I've dealt with have been super friendly, chatty and a pleasure to deal with.
21. Looking at the 8sounds music website it almost looks, infact the bongo looks identical to the chinese copies put out by aliexpress. Most of their stock looks like aliexpress copies. *edit* beaten to it!

23.
Depends on the blue. This is just bluegh IMO.
Not normally an aria fan but that is lovely, something about the combo of that blue and the thru neck stripe just does it for me. Very nice!
24. Not sure I'd want to mod a vintage instrument unless it was already a long way from standard, would love to see some pics though!
