1. A bump for anyone who might have missed this one.
2. quote 'he's a bit of a kn0b' ha ha, i met him and this was my thought exactly :^) he can play but it gets dull rather quickly.
3. here is a link to the contruction page http://www.xylembass...nstruction.html there are a couple of build pics now showing the neck construction and body blanks :^)
4. Great video, great song, great band :^)
5. what a cool band, pure insanity, with great grooves. i love the bass part in stubb (a dub) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RBSrUtX0bA
6. ha, ha, i thought this was a blue soul, just realised its different, interesting..............
7. i really wanna try one of these, does it sound like a Glock? i have been wondering since they announced it, light weight, compact, if they nailed the sound it'll be on my wishlist :^)
8. I hate curly leads, you feel it there all the time as if you are tethered to your rig. It is not good. They are ugly bugly too. Normal leads get tangled. Its gotta be wireless for me.
9. The new alesis wireless says it is suitable for all instruments including keys and bass and is only £65. According to early reviews (for guitar use) its very good too.
10. My band Winterfire to play our 1st gig at the towler, Tottington, Bury, BL8 4AA, supporting local band Afterdown. melodic metal with a touch of thrash and a dash of prog, sound samples can be found here. Expect lots of iron maiden style twin guitar harmonies, driving basslines and soaring Dickinson esque vocals too :^) https://soundcloud.com/winterfire FREE entry start 8pm
11. wierd those are the same as mine were and it was an 8 ohm cab, so i would reckon yours is too as to why the overall measurement was different, who knows? i didnt measure them individually at the time.
12. I had a goliath iii 8 ohm cab which measured at approx 5.9 ohms I would check the drivers and wiring to be sure they should all be marked individually
13. metal bassist required for NW based Metal band 'Derision' its a mate of mine that is lookin and i said i would post an ad for em. they are a great bunch of lads and dedicated to the music. they are booked to play hammerfest next year alongside Kreator and Overkill which is pretty cool too. they rehearse somewhere in wigan (although they are thinkin of relocating to bolton)and anyone interested should contact them directly through the webiste http://www.derisionband.com/ video sample with bonus Zombies:^)
14. if you can find one a crate blue voodoo (100 or 120w, avoid the 50's as they lack balls) will come in for that kinda cash used and the are massively underated apms for metal, they are truly epic amps. dont let the crate badge put you off either, they were properly made premium all valve monsters.
15. For me sandberg necks are far superior.
16. I agree it all seems like painting by numbers recently with DT. Technical for the sake of it. Live they are pretty flawless but there is no vibe. Symphony X on the other hand are technically awesome live but with some feel. My favorite prog metal band by far at the moment.
17. great band, my favorites (albums) were strangeitude and erpland, roly was the man
18. Nothin tops Equator D5's in that price bracket in my opinion, they are obscenely good.
19. thanks to itsmedunc for bringing this to our attention. i picked it up with an alesis m-eq230 and a bag full of zip discs for £60, bargain :^)
20. im gonna see if this is still available, a 4 input mixer with effects and dynamics for £40, a bargain
21. i play bass and guitar but consider bass as my main instrument. im not a lead player (guitar), however im more than happy to noodle off some kind of crazy bass solo on a whim. i have never really thought about the difference. i consider bass and guitar very different instruments in the way that you approach them in regards of technique though and dont generally consider bass and guitars parts interchangeable at all. i may have to consider this train of thought further...........
22. its played on a bass?
23. finally got round to it, my workspace in 3 shots.
24. now gone, many thanks.
25. i could really do with a little mixer like this at the mo but im outta cash, are you interested in trades at all? i have box full of pickups (for guitar and bass) and an aguilar internal preamp - the 2 band one goin spare i think its the obp-2 let me know if you are interested, cheers :^)
