1. A trustworthy and genuine seller. I just bought a Yamaha bass from him. Communication throughout was great. Pete went out of his way (literally) to help me. He drove about 60 miles on a wet day to meet me at service station. Five stars, cheers!
2. Nice to hear from you Eric, hope you are keeping well. I gave up the website a year ago. There's a separate thread in General Discussion area. Yes, I have plenty to fill the bass-playing void! And it's much better that my babies go to a home where they will get used and loved instead of just decorating my wall. Kind regards.
3. Bump. There is a gentleman from Poland interested in this bass.
4.
Hi, Can you tell me the wheight?
22 kilograms according to my bathroom scales. The cost would rise for posting to Europe.
5. I am retiring from bass playing and selling the last of my gear. I used to run a website dedicated to Aria SB basses. This bass is my personal favourite of those I've owned. The SB-R60 is the passive, wider/shallower-necked cousin of the SB-1000 with distinctive elliptical fret markers. Less to go wrong, less wood cut away, better sustain. This one is in the gorgeous "honey" finish. Volume, tone and series/parallel switch. A beautiful bass with a really lovely neck and no fret buzz. Schaller locking strap buttons and Fender strap included. Not heavy. Has the usual small dings for a bass of its age. Action at 12th fret = 3.5 mm (E-string) / 2.8 mm (G-string). You are welcome to try the bass if you live in central Scotland. Comes with original Aria case for the SB series, in very tatty ("retro" or "distressed") condition as you can see! From a non-smoking, pet-free house. £475 delivered within UK. Also advertised elsewhere. 6. I am retiring from bass playing and selling the last of my gear. This is a very special bass. In fact I liked it so much I created and ran a website dedicated to the Aria SB series of basses. The SB-700 is the passive brother of the SB-1000. The simple circuit means there is less to go wrong. There is less wood cut away, which means better sustain. This is an incredibly smooth, playable bass with a rock-solid neck, a low action and not a trace of fret buzz (unless you play hard above fret 19 on E-string or 20 on A-string.) The neck is narrow and deep which might seem a bit unusual at first but hopefully, like me and others who have tried this bass, you will love it. The neck has never needed any attention or adjusting in the 20+ years I have owned this bass. The pickup is not original. I transferred the original to an SB-R80 which had one faulty pickup and replaced the SB-700's with one of Kent (or is it Dan?) Armstrong's replacements. Volume, tone, series/parallel switch. Schaller locking strap buttons and Fender strap with extra padding included. Yes, before anyone asks, this example in oak is a heavy bass! Has the usual small dings for a bass of its age. A hole on the back, where a previous owner had relocated his strap-lock, has been filled. Action at 12th fret = 2.9 mm (E-string) / 2.3 mm (G-string). You are welcome to try the bass if you live in central Scotland. From a non-smoking, pet-free home. Advertised elsewhere. Comes with Hiscox case, £475 delivered within UK.
7. I am retiring from bass playing and selling the last of my gear. The TAB100 can be used with any bass but was designed to help an acoustic bass be heard in an ensemble. Very versatile sound characteristics. Two channels, piezo/active selection, equaliser, notch filter to avoid feedback. In perfect working order and good condition though the tolex covering has come away at one corner as illustrated. Comes with a custom-made cover which cost £70. You are welcome to try the amp if you live in central Scotland. I'm really not sure what to ask for this, how about £295 delivered within UK? 8. I am retiring from bass playing and selling the last of my gear. The AB40SH is a high-quality acoustic bass designed by Stu Hamm. Each string has its own saddle adjustable for height and intonation. Advanced electronics allow you to balance the loudness of each string in the mix. Yin/yang bass clef fret markers. Buzz Fieten tuning system. It is hard to find these in the UK. I had to import this from the USA in 2014 (receipt included). Has had frets dressed by Jimmy Moon of Glasgow. Plays very nicely with no obvious buzz. Action at 12th fret = 4.5 mm (E-string) / 3.8 mm (G-string). In absolutely mint condition, not a mark or scratch on it. You are welcome to try the bass if you live in central Scotland. From a non-smoking, pet-free house. Comes with a very nice case. £475 delivered within UK. Advertised elsewhere. 9. Well I guess the idea of hosting on BC is going nowhere. What a pity. If anyone wants to take over the running and hosting of the site please get in touch with me.
10.
As time-poor as I am, I'd be happy to get the site on solid ground and give it a lick of paint. Like people have stated, it needs to be maintained and kept live in some form or another.
Oh thank goodness Carl, your help would be very welcome. If you PM or email me I will give you more details.
