1. buying used probably means a barefaced 69'er is out of reach, i would love to try one myself though
2. i always liked the SWR Goliath 6x10 for rock and metal and you can get em fairly cheap 2nd hand, just spotted one on this very forum. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/214937-swr-goliath-senior-6x10/page__p__2329755__hl__swr__fromsearch__1#entry2329755 the mesa stuff is epic but seriously heavy, not a 610 but this is a monster, http://basschat.co.u...-for-sale-l600/

4. looks like he has moved the bridge, i bet the intonation is wonderful ;^)
5. In ear monitors maybe theres nothin like bieng able to hear yourself when stage monitoring isnt up to scrach.
6. i like the headstock and the maple board too, if i was closer id have to see if i could have a try. if it had to be posted, my wife would find out and im trying not to buy anything untill my custom xylem arrives. i have had 4 vesters though and for this price its a no brainer to anyone after a cheap P/J

8. Rane eq's, Fantastic quality and they go super cheap used. they did loads of different models too, i cant recommend them enough. i used to have one on my rig, the DC24 compressor is epic too.
9. this one, it just aint ready yet :^) http://www.xylembass...nstruction.html or failing that, something pointy, that lights up, maybe like this [sharedmedia=core:attachments:141450]
10. yeah they are super tight live too, they keep asking me but i just dont have the time.
11. sorry, i mis read your post like a dumbass :^) they do look nice though.
12. 30'' is fine for me, in an 8 string that is. that tune looks lovely, did you import it ans how much did it cost?
13. if i had the cash, i would love one of these. http://www.bcrich.com/handcrafted/gHBICH8KN.php
14. well spotted, the background signage looks like usa to me, certainly not UK, highly suspicious.
15. dunno, the wood grain seems a perfect match to the one on the ritter site, if the pics are genuine that is.
16. https://ritter-instruments.com/item_info.php?i=261 details on the ritter site for this bass

19. Tim 'Herb' Alexander Kai Hahto & Nicko Mcbrain again - already done that one, awesome experience :^)
20. i forgot about the saddles issue on the hagstrom, how about getting a cheap 5er or 4string with a wide neck (at the nut) and doing a conversion. schaller do a bridge with individually adjustable bridge saddles, get the neck strenghthened to support the extra tension and you're away just an idea :^)
21. Hagstrom hb-8 around £400 ish new. Not to my liking visually but sounded great and super easy to play due to the short scalelength (30.75" i think) oops you already knew that. If you get chance try one the short scale makes for easier chords. I thought i wouldnt like it but i was impressed with the playability.
22. i have a great 4x5'' custom made celestion loaded cab just for this purpose, its 16ohm 120rms and tiny. sounds perfect for rehearsing, obviously its doesnt have masses of bottom end but it works great. i even have a dozen or so brand new drivers and the proper plans to make more too. if you are interested i might be pursuaded to make another cheap :^)
23. i used to work in a large music shop, i have seen this so many times, sometimes things are busy and just get missed or forgotton about, more often than not its just lazy staff, either way its 100% unacceptable. best to speak to the manager or whoever is in charge and if its part of a chain get in touch with the head office, give them some grief and get them to chase it personally, get names and direct contact numbers where applicable. good luck gettin it sorted.
24. cheers guys, should be a good do :^)
25. A' tomorrow night' kinda bump in case anyone north western metalers may have missed it.
