  1. Fortunately for my bank account I have no idea who Rex Brown is!😇
  2. @yorks5stringer So it was you that told her to ‘break a leg’, Keith? 😆
  3. Bob Carruthers. I would have staked my pocket money on it! Google him ...
  4. Not her fault but I’ve had a down on Ms Twain ever since a band I was in was requested to play Proud Mary. I pulled the lyrics up on the iPad only to find some loon had input Man, I Feel Like A woman.... 😩 A performance to forget!
  5. Ah. That would be Dee (formerly David) Palmer...
  6. You said it, Teebs!
  7. Strange Feedback? I always thought it was Strange Magic!😂
  8. Welcome back to the fold, Michael...😇
  9. He has cut his hair. Sellout!
  10. They lumped themselves, surely!? 😁
  11. I mentioned in another forum my Radio Shack battery practice amp, bought in 1999 and still going strong. Uses a battery the size of a half brick. Tried to replace it but was struck by remorse... is used every other Thursday for uke bass on Irish session. What have you owned the longest (not a bass or guitar) that still helps you make music?
  12. Just done business with this fella. It was all done and dusted within hours and without any problems whatsoever. Top man.
  13. Of course! I bought to replace a 30 year old practice amp I bought from Radio Shack (remember them?) I use with my bass uke. It runs on a whopping brick size battery, which is a pain to replace so I thought I’d move into this century. Unfortunately the Vox is far too nice to sling under a beer soaked pub table at an Irish session, so - feeling I have been disloyal to my old amp - I am resisting bonding with the glamorous newcomer by passing it to someone who will use it! And Stewblack is that person... have fun with it!
  14. Welcome sir and good luck. See you around!
  15. Just did a deal with Alex which went just fine. An upstanding BC member...
  16. SOLD!! As new, still boxed mini practice amp with a plethora of rhythms, effects and a tuner. The ideal bedroom/backstage gadget, with an aux in for playing along to recordings. Can operate on AA batteries or a 9v mains adapter (not supplied). In battery mode, shuts off after a period of non use to prevent running out (lasts 20 hours between battery changes.) Price includes UK postage. They don’t come up second hand very often, and there’s a reason, so grab yourself a half price bargain!
  17. Restring him with cat-wounds!
  18. I like the additional beast!
  19. As above, cut for long scale 2+2 headstock bass. No good with gauges, but would not say they are super heavy. Blue silks. Got them in with a bass I no longer own. First to pm me their address gets them, but would like you to throw a quid or so into the next Macmillan collecting tin you see. Thanks!
  20. As a final wrap to this thread, we could not find any live music on the Saturday night at all. That said, there was plenty of goings-on in the street, most of which I cannot repeat for fear of offending decency... Sunday was a ska/punk all dayer at the Lady Luck which we observed from outside ... ‘‘twas heaving. Then went to the Turkish restaurant which lived up to recommendation. The Bishops Finger was ok, despite the dreaded big screen football. Monday night, after seafood at Chapmans, the Black Griffin advertised live music. It was a blues band called Blue Onions who were captained by an ex Basschat member. (The Barefaced/Marusczyk combination was a dead giveaway.) He didn’t give his name, sadly, but his band were better than average and rounded off our long weekend well. Thanks again to those who contributed to this thread.
  21. I can sleep easy now!
