1. You planning on having the bridge P pickup the normal way round or reversing it? I love the idea of a P / reverse P wired for stereo.
2. To chuck my 2p in, my old Hartke model 2000 sounded fantastic through an Ampeg 4x10, a 2nd hand one should be within your budget
3. That was The Enemy then? Shocked they're still about to be honest, I remember liking a couple of tracks off their first record despite the rampant Paul Weller worship
4. Check out the track 'The Lines In My Hand' from the new Opeth record, Mendez got that great overdrive sound from one of these
5. Very tempting sir, but whilst it makes me feel shallow, the colour just isn't for me
6. I love my Fafner, absolutely adore the sound; but I keep looking at these and think if I traded in my Fafner and proline 4x10 I could get a Reidmar and maybe a Barefaced Compact and if I then ran an EBS Valvedrive in the fx loop would I get the same, or at least a close approximation of the tone? I do keep thinking I'll miss the bright switch as I leave that on pretty much permanently. Any thoughts?
7. Price drop to £745.00 Anyone with a Skyline Bob Glaub fancy a change of scene?
8. That's not David from East Grinstead is it? If so, I thought you'd settled on Nordstrands?
Intriguing offer but that's not really what I'm looking for, thanks though Graham
No worries fella, have a bump
10.
..if she let's you, you mean...
Well..................yes.
11. That's great, thanks. I'm getting married next week so can't get to your neck of the woods right now, but I'll get in contact about a date that suits us both soon
12. The finish? Yeah a dark red; it was previously owned by a couply of Basschat members and I think it was OBBM(?) who had it modified by the Gallery in Camden to have a matched Lindy Fralin jazz pickup added at the bridge and a (currently unused) battery compartment added. I'm not sure if the black pcik-guard is aftermarket too, might be.
13. Is there anyone in the Kent / Sussex / Surrey area who owns a Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub and wouldn't mind me coming over and trying it out? Or possibly even further afield, depending on where you are. I'm coming to the conclusion that as much as I love the tone and aesthetics of my Duck Dunn, I would prefer a wider neck so a Bob Glaub strikes me as a sensible alternative. In an ideal world it would be an ash / maple rather than as alder / rosewood; but either way would love to give it a spin. I'll come armed with beer / wine / chocolate / dohnuts as applicable and any of my gear you might want to try - see my sig Cheers, Graham
14. Adverting on behalf of a friend, Marshall 4x10 bass combo with Dynamic Bass System. been gigged, but in good working order, sounds great - had a deep, but still punchy tone when I played through it. It's been a while since I've played this amp so I can't remember all the features, and once he lets me know the model number I'll put that up, but the bottom line is that this is a good, working man's amp that gets the job done well. £400.00 collected, or will deliver in the Crawley area. Any questions just ask and I'll find out for you
15. I'd love to play Anchor by Cave In, just a great, straight-up rock song; but I can't see it being very well known by most pub / club audiences and we all know how fickle people can be about dancing to songs they don't know

Any interest in this? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/172849-mayones-custom-shop-be4-fsft/page__p__1659566__hl__mayones__fromsearch__1#entry1659566

Do you know what pickups this has?
18.
I don't use my amp at home at all. I just use a preamp into a mixer and play with headphones. I think I get a better sound than I would using a practice amp and it means I don't annoy my wife/baby. It also means that I can just take my preamp to gigs and DI it and get exactly the same results.
Exactly what I do, for the same reasons; and I agree, I think it's a better sound like this than I'd get from a small / turned down amp
19. Does anyone know how the neck on a Lakland Bob Glaub might compare to a 70's Fender? As I love the tone of my Duck Dunn, but I would prefer a wider neck and I think they both have Lindy Fralin pickups
20.
I had a 79 fretless, was wide but very shallow from front to back, is this like your mate's? closest I've found is a crafted-in-japan; others have been slightly deeper. you could try Warmoth, they now do a choice of depths in a wide selection of materials. quality is excellent.
That sounds about right, might look out for a CIJ then. I'll see if I can have another play of it next week and really pay attention to the dimensions
