  1. I had one of the originals. Horrible piece of stinky poo. Glad to get rid of it for £15 quid in about 1974.
  2. Might be something here that you can work with? https://alternativeto.net/software/loopback/
  3. I'll keep mine crossed too just in case. It would be a terrible shame if something happened to this lovely bass.
  4. You couriered this? Have you taken leave of your senses?
  5. Fair enough. I'm not a fan of the standard SR5 either. The Classic looks much more like a proper Stingray, with the control plate.
  6. Dug back into my archives and the 2500 Tribute I owned was definitely 16.5mm spacing at the bridge. Maybe the US made ones are different? That's the reason I got rid of mine: I found a Bass Collection with 19mm spacing and I find that much more comfortable. The BBNE2 is 18mm and I wouldn't want to go any less. Horses for courses.
  7. String spacing on the G&L can be a bit tight. I had a 2500 Tribute which was only about 16mm. Great sounding bass though.
  8. I have Status half-wound on my Duesenberg, which seems like a good compromise between thump and definition.
  9. Well, either you're right, and I'd better throw my BBNE2 into a skip. Or ...
  10. Dude seems to be looking for the dots for 'Song for my Father' originally by the Horace Silver Quintet, 1965 . There's an arrangement here which includes a bass part. https://musescore.com/user/31455399/scores/5487708 This appears to be in F minor though, so I'm not sure what the 'Eb' comment is about.
  11. This. Same one , even 😉 If tube pres are not OK, Euphonic Audio iAmp 350. I've never owned the 800 but I expect that will be pretty good too.
  12. Someone please buy this so I don't have to! I hope you have matching hair and glasses to go with it, like this dude:
  13. Use Google instead, set up a search with site:basschat.co.uk and then add the string you're looking for.
  14. I have the guitar version (the Zenith) and the piezo in that works pretty well, so I haven't thought about changing it.
  15. Think @kristo had some success with Kent Armstrong pickups .
  16. IBTL. Anyone got any popcorn?
  17. Welcome to the Basschat swear filter.
  18. The Pentateuch of the Cosmogony out-fails that by a considerable distance IMHO.
  19. One of your other guitarists was a better player than that when I was in band with him when we were both at school together. I cant believe he's regressed that much since!
  20. Stand it on the one you're not using? Ironing board?

    Zoom MS60-B

I am not a huge fan of the MS-60B's Octave effect, I had much better results with the Pitch Shift effect. I don't think either of them is as good as my OC-3, but thats just a personal opinion.
  22. I think that may once have been a Senator bass. Neck issues are par for the course with these.
  23. Seems to be a growing number of people offering trades in Status Updates. Is this usage within site guidelines?
  24. I'm not sure this is right. Anecdotally, I have 3 different Piezo systems (2 by KK Sound, one by Shadow) which do not require power and which generate enough signal to be heard when plugged into a random amp. They do all sound better with a high impedance it is true, so I would guess the battery is there to power the preamp and isn't required for the piezo. The problem sounds like a short to me, either the socket is broken or the wiring has a fault.
