1. +1 You seem to be getting rid of the perfect pub outfit, to buy errrrr........ another pub outfit Does not compute????????????
2. Just messin' There has been a lot of threads recently about just bunging a driver into a cab and hoping for the best (which ended in tears for some). Have a look back - you may reconsider your choices!
3. That's a whole lot of shouting there, cowboy At the risk of sounding stupid, I would have thought you need a 12" 250W 8ohm Neo Deltalight
4. Bought some strap locks off Simon. Not the biggest sale in the world, but done quickly and easily :-) Thank you
5. I've got the MEI100 system, which has only a couple of features less than the 1000, and is £80 cheaper. I bought it originally for when I'm right at the back in the usual bass player position, and can't hear the stage monitors for the vocals. I'm now starting to do backing vocals, and use it to get my own vocal level up in my ears, without it overpowering the main vocals in the monitors or main PA. The standard buds seem OK to me, as a rank amateur, they do block out most of the background noise, so I'm tending to only have one in, to stop the feeling of isolation. It works well. Lots of channels to choose from. Can't say I've noticed any interference, and for the £160 I paid, it does what it says it should do.
6. The new Barefaced range of white cabs
7. Having done some more research, I think the Wilkinson's are MWBJN & MWBJB models. Price reduced to reflect this. If they're not, then someone gets a bargain
8. I'm assuming you've had a bit of a look through the threads on here? Whatever you do, don't buy a Barefaced cab
9. There's no ID anywhere on them. They came in a Squier J bass that I traded for an acoustic. I've since swapped them out for a pair of Fenders. They look brand new, so I looked them up online and WBJBF & WBJBR seemed to fit the bill, as the only exposed pole pups in the range. If I've got that wrong, I'll happily amend the description/price
10. Paul bought a set of J pups off me. Easy, quick, and no messing - just as it should be Cheers mate
11. Hi Rallyeluke - they are Alnico V, according to other adverts I've seen for them Bartolini's now sold
12. Thank you Mr Freak - that just made me laugh out loud in a busy office *hides under desk in shame*
13. Knocked a few quid off and now with free delivery
14. Alex must be close to putting a deposit down on his third tropical island, the way the love is spreading on here
15. Mr Claber spills the beans http://barefacedbass.com/technical-information/the-mysteries-of-ports.htm
16. The bubble will burst sooner or later Says the owner of 2 BF cabs
17.
I'll go first with a Big Baby 2. Its to add to my Big One for noisier gigs.
You need to add to a Big One.???? Where are you playing? Jet engine testing facilities? ;-)
18. Out of curiosity, was it produced by Fender like that, or has someone got a router and a couple of P pups for their birthday
19. Why put up the ad without the correct picture. Who does he think is going to bid???
20. I have the Magic Roundabout theme tune as my ringtone. No bass, but it does make people of a certain age smile when they hear it go off.
21. I've got one and I love it to bits. At that price, if you don't want it, I'll have it and put it next to the other one. Just to be aware, there are 2 versions. The non-export versions (mine) have the traditional metal Jazz control plate, knobs and jack socket, scratchguard, and come in lots of lovely colours (mine is gunmetal blue). The export versions have the knobs mounted through the body and a Strat type embedded socket, and are black. Make any difference? I doubt it, just another useless bit of Basschat trivia for you. BTW - as the body top is curved, the bridge is slightly recessed into it, so if you want to swap it out for another make, there may be some delicate chiselling involved Get one - you won't regret it - and if you do, I'll give you £350 for it
22. Following Steve (skidder652003)'s 'confession' I locked the thread last night. The mods and I have been chatting this morning and it was decided that locking was an over reaction, and the thread should now be re-opened. I have apologised to Steve, and hope you all put it down to New Mod power crazed enthusiasm Cheers Dave
23.
Screws etc - www.axesrus.co.uk - free delivery. I replaced the pre in a B Bass (Jack with headstock) with an Artec SE2-A which works perfectly apart from not hooking up to the active/passive switch in an obvious way - I'm sure there's a way. G.
I put that very preamp in mine http://basschat.co.uk/topic/206640-sold-hohner-the-jack-headless-with-new-eq-sold/page__p__2074322__hl__hohner%20jack__fromsearch__1#entry2074322 You can keep the active/passive function by wiring the hot output from each volume pot to the two centre pins of the switch, then wiring the two top pins to the tip/hot connection on the jack socket, and the bottom two pins to the inputs into the preamp. You don't get any tone control in passive mode, just volume, but it bypasses the preamp and lets you carry on playing when the battery goes flat
24. Bumpage, plus actual model numbers missing off first post
