There's a couple of Orange Terror Basses on here at the mo. A 500 and a 1000. Well in your budget and huge amounts of bang for your buck. Awesome amps for your type of music

Buying/trading a used amp: would you expect a power cable?

When I buy something secondhand, I expect it to be delivered by Jennifer Anniston, naked, on a unicorn. I'm usually disappointed. She never brings a lead -

Just 2 questions 1. Why? 2. See question 1 -
Never seen an amp that fits onto a towbar before. Must be great for a touring band

Hi Donovan It's a standard width jazz neck - just goes a bit further up the dusty end. I've had several 'normal' jazzes, and this one feels no different. This isn't a stupid answer, but in passive mode it sounds like a passive jazz. However I don't think you'll play it much in passive mode, because it sounds so powerful in active mode. You've got seperate bass/mid/treble controls, so tonally, there's plenty more scope than the traditional single jazz tone knob. For a quick sale to a top quality BC'er, I'll ship it to Belgium for the £375

I have a Retrovibe Vantage Mk 1 that's coming up to 2 years old, and I love it. Had no issues at all with build quality or electrics. The big fat bridge humbucker is a beast!!! It makes bass players do a double take when they see it. It's certainly not a Fender or an R* (I have them as well), but you're not paying those new prices. Horses, courses, etc

Josh bought an amp off me. No problems, quick payment Just as it should be on here

I've bought multiple covers off them for amps and cabs, and every one has fitted like a glove and been perfect for handle holes. Fully recommend them if you want something to protect against scuffs and scratches, but not being dropped off a bridge

I had to tame mine with 12AY7 (ECC81)'s as it was breaking up too soon. Now it can demolish small villages with just that hint of growl to tell everyone there's some vacuum tubes at work

My 1976 mapleglo 4001 weighs 4.255kg and has a nut width of 1 3/5" (slightly over Jazz width, but not Precision) I play with a pick and still have the pup cover on it. I mainly play Jazzes, with the Ric being Sunday best, but after about a minute on it, it's no more easy or difficult to play than a J (IMHO) Still the best looking bass I've ever owned, and when it's growling away, it always makes me glad I own one.

Shame they couldn't even get his surname right -
Have a look for a Markbass LM II - should be able to get one for well inside your budget. You might be lucky and find an F1 or an LMIII for that money All chuck out 500W @ 4ohm and are seriously punchy heads, but run quite clean. Grit it up a bit with an Orange TB500 - tons of fat noise - I love mine, and I've had an LMII and an F1
In situations like these, always remember the old adage: It's easier to seek forgiveness than to ask permission...
My buying history summed up in one succinct quotation. I shall pin it to the fridge door, so she can see every day

I'm selling this beautiful Fender Jazz Deluxe 24 fret bass, which I bought from here a few months ago. Why? Simply because I like ringing the changes and trying out new amps and basses. Not a common model from Fender, which is what attracted it to me in the first place. If you like playing up at the dusty end, then you've got a complete 2 octave neck to noodle on. If you read the reviews, it seems that the original Seymour Duncan designed preamps have all the reliability of a 1970's Skoda, and this one was no exception. I had it 2 days before it blew up. It now sports a brand new Bass Mods, 3 band preamp, with a complete new wiring harness and pots. The knobs and microswitch are the originals. For controls, you have :- Master Volume - with push/pull active/passive function, so keeps going if the battery dies. Pickup Blend Stacked Bass/Treble Mid Battery On/Off - stops that massive pop when you pull the lead out The pickups are the original Seymour Duncan Basslines, as fitted by Fender, and the tuners are the original Hipshot models. It has the original Fender high mass bridge as well. The preamp is awesome, with a huge range of tones from thin and weedy, to wall shaking bass. The tobacco quilt top looks fantastic, and the overall condition is very good, with only a single ding on the headstock edge worth talking about. A lovely bass that I've enjoyed owning and playing It comes delivered to your door in a good condition Hiscox hard case for [s]£450[/s][s]£400 [/s] £375 No trades wanted now - thanks Slideshow here - http://s1304.photobu...eshow/Jazz%2024
