  1. Fast Eddie Clarke has passed away. Everything will be on 11 wherever they are now.
  2. I didn't just go ahead and do it the first time they played their bump bump bumpy s**t ☺, they started doing it more and more often getting steadily louder and later every time and as mentioned above when I could hear it over our telly I'd had enough, I thought just the one rig was quite restrained actually, I could have used all 3. 😊
  3. I personally don't plug in at home as we're mid terrace, but that's just me, the neighbours we have now are pretty quiet themselves and I don't want that to change as I am not a lover of loud neighbours. The lot we had to our left previously had a short spell where they liked to think they were lovers of loud bass, odd really considering they had a young baby in there with them. 20 minutes of 500 watts of overdriven Orange through my Dubster placed against the dividing wall quickly convinced them otherwise.
  4. Good to hear that, I ordered a supertone bridge an hour ago to stick on the Epiphone eb3 I got last week.
  5. Tonight's practice rig.
  6. Metal, doomy/stoner type stuff drop b tuned, nothing recorded with it yet, I've got quite a few basses but only used it with my Tokai Hardpuncher so far, i cant see any bass being a problem with it, there's a lot of variation in eq built into it.
  7. You're not going to have any trouble being heard in any band going through one of these. There's any tone you could want in it regardless of what they call it.
  8. You don't need to make a face with the meters, you make a face struggling to prevent voiding yourself when you hit the brown note... 😂
  9. It's a monster, I must admit to not being greatly impressed by any of the Ashdown cabs I've used, but my Head of Doom is going nowhere, it's a keeper.
  10. I bought mine without hearing it, it's a monster of a thing through either my Dubster or Four10, very easy to use and not lacking in oomph or volume in any way, I don't think you'd be disappointed if you do end up having to buy without trying one.
  11. After the snow put paid to practice last week I finally got to turn this up tonight, it lives up to its name... it's VERY loud, there's loads of tones in there, can't compare it to the standard abm600 as I've not played through one but I'm not sorry I bought this at all, it's a beast.
  12. Dunno yet, it'll need to be cranked right up to tell I suppose, it's just an amp at the end of the day nobody will be more suprised than me if it makes me sound like anyone other than me ?. It is UK hand built if that means anything, that was a factor, I'd rather have something made here in the UK and there is always going to be a premium to be paid for that.
  13. I don't foresee any shortcomings, my Matamp is ridiculous through it and that's only 200w. Man watts though I suppose.
  14. I've always liked the sound of the ABM amps but not overly keen on the look, the spec of this sounded right, it certainly looks right (to me anyway) and most importantly, over the past 3 years I've learned you are only here once, so if you can afford it... Absolutely. Top of the list, anything else is as nothing. ?
  15. I am not troubling myself with that side of it Kev, it won't give either if I use it with my Four10 as that's 8ohm, I reckon it'll induce a soiling when it's cranked up and that's good enough for me.
  16. This arrived yesterday, only had a go at front room volume but it's nice...
  17. Last night's practice rig.
  18. I've never had an Ashdown before (other than a little 15w practice combo) but whenever I've heard an ABM head in a live situation they've always impressed me, the ones I've heard have always sounded 'right' no matter what genre they were being used in. I have pre-ordered a Head of Doom on the strength of that anyway, I wouldn't let someone else's opinion stop me buying an amp of any brand, what suits you may not suit someone else (obviously) and vice versa, sometimes you just have to give it a go and see for yourself.
  19. My Matamp 6×10, I won't say it's really a regret as it was heavy, but now I've got the head I'd like to be able to run it through the cab just to see... (I could have bought another but I paid such a good price for the one I had direct from Matamp that I begrudge paying a damn sight more for a second-hand one).
  20. £1099, UK made as far as I know.
