1. Cheers I'll look into that one.
2. Another shout for the Superlux HD668B. I use them for mixing, monitoring and general listening. For the price I do not think they can be beaten. If you can't find them on Thomann, Amazon is your best bet.
3. I find myself in need of a flanger. I have an Ibanez CF7 but there is a fault with the foot switch which makes it unreliable for live use. At the moment I only need it for one song and it is unlikely it will become something I will use frequently, so I don't want to spend much. I have seen a lot of very cheap pedals that are allegedly designed in the US but built in China by a compny called Mighty Sound. They look exactly like the Mooer pedal but are selling for £15 on ebay. Anyone have any experience with them or can you recommend something else in a similar price range? It will be used with an overdriven bass tuned to D standard. Thanks.
4. I just ordered this a couple of days ago : https://youtu.be/p1Y7kQ5aV8I It seems to be a straight clone of the Zvex and the demos sound brilliant. £32 delivered seems pretty good. Will let you know how it sounds in real life when it arrives.
5. Sorry I don't know it but I do like the Bluetones.
6. Bad Monkey is a superb od pedal. I originally bought mine for guitar but found that it gave me exactly the sound I wanted on bass. It is my one essential pedal.
7. What do you class as a versatile bass ? Never mind - I just saw your Enfield thread. Looks brilliant.
8. Good luck man. That's some nasty sh*t.
9.
Pretty much what I was just about to post
This.
10. I call myself Steve. I play a bass guitar. Couldn't give a f*** what anybody else thinks.
11. For me, there's just nothing like the trouser flapping power you get from a fully cranked bass. It just feels - wonderful. I play guitar as well but bass just rocks. Plus all my schoolboy heroes played bass (Simonon, Burnell etc.)
12. So to sum up: last in, can't play, unpopular, sh*tty attitude. Sack him or the whole band will crash. Seriously.
13. That's sh*t man. Hope you get it back. Will keep an eye out.
14. A bass is not cool. The person playing it is or is not cool. Cool does not describe inanimate objects.
15. Personally I wouldn't sell unless I absolutely had to for financial reasons.
16. Ibanez. I love the look, feel and sound of them . Great value for money
17. Moonage Daydream or Sound and Vision. Or a whole bunch of others too numerous to mention. Always loved the Laughing Gnome as well.
18. Band went through a rough patch last summer then I had spinal surgery in September. Haven't played a note since and really struggling to find the will to pick it up again . Guess I just got lazy. Need a boot up the arse I think and it's coming in the form of my singer calling down next Sunday to discuss the future. It sucks because for so long it was my main focus and I seem to have lost it completely.
19. I'm afraid I am a fan of Jack White. If that makes me an asshole so be it. I presume the article was written with a fair amount of tongue in cheek, otherwise the writer is the greatest asshole of them all and a judgemental prick.
20. Lemmy lived the rock n roll lifestyle many would love to emulate. He made it to 70 still touring with his true love, Motorhead. He lived and died on his own terms and never apologised for it . f***in legend.
21. Don't rule out Ibanez. The GSR 200 is great for the money.
22. I like 'buckers for heavy grunt and singles for clarity. Depends on my mood. I have heard people say you can't play metal on a Tele : bullshit. It's all about eq and proper control of your rig. Just as it is with bass.
23. War Pigs by Sabbath?
24. I have listened to some of his stuff but it does nothing for me. Obviously a very gifted musician but it's just not for me. I will try again some time, maybe his less jazzy stuff will appeal more.
25. Played the Limelight in Belfast on Saturday evening. Only our third gig with our new drummer so I was well pleased with the review we got, which can be read here if you are interested. We are RedEye by the way. http://belfastmetalheadsreunited.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/live-review-storming-set-of-hard-rockin.html
