1. I love the simple life - the most i ever use in addition to bass and amp is a chorus pedal. We cover the usual stuff, from U2 to Earth Wind and Fire, and the simple setup works fine for me.
2. spent another hour or so playing last night, and i'm finding the less i actually think about it being a 6, the easier things are becoming. Learned some new tunes last night for a new gig at the end of the month which includes some James Taylor covers so there are plenty of changes going on. The low B string is coming in very handy. Not sure i will be a full time 6.er, but i'm loving the change. Thanks for all your advice folks.
3. Greetings from Bromley mate

6. Steve Bailey...but i've said that before oh, and the bass player on Zingzillas (no, not the one episode that Stu Zender was in)
7. they're both rubbish and will never catch on :-)
8. Thanks all
9. Evening all, I have purchased a 6'er from Dougal on here (see ya Monday for collection Dougal) and am looking to expand my playing from my usual 4's. Anyone got any tips, or is it just a case of practice to get used to the 2 new strings? Thanks Graeme
10. Played a midwife's charity ball in Kent on Friday night, was a cracker.

15.
Assuming bass set up hasn't changed and using same amp then apart from a dodgy string or not seated properly at bridge i'm a bit puzzled.
BINGO - i noticed last night when i pulled the bass out of it's case that the D wasn't seated in the groove. I cant believe i didn't notice when i was using the bass. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

17.
They start eating around sevenish and it can be midnight time the last course is done, some gigs we have just played between courses. Its a very strange setup. But then years ago playing clubs in the UK we used to get asked to stop for the bingo or raffle.
Meat Raffle? gotta love a meat raffle

20. i'll do some checks. It was through my 1x15 combo whcih i've had for donkeys years.
21. Using my Warwick Corvette last night at rehearsal, I noticed that my D string seemed quiet in comparison to the rest of them. It's not something i've noticed before - could it simply be something in my eq settings or maybe the string?
22. here here.
23. Judging by the responses so far, makes me think we could (in alot of cases) easily dep in each others bands!
24. bit steep for a Tribute act in my book, but £100 for a night out enjoying music you like doesn't sound so bad to me. My advice - save your money and go see Level 42 in October :-) (tickets are £37)
25. oh and Happy Birthday too!
