1. Dont ignore Behringer. I picked up a used pair of Eurolive BA215 400w two-way powered tops, basically Mackie SM clones, for £250 on eBay. Great cabs and more than up to the task as vocal PA for a five piece rock band.
2.
For sale this great jedson tele bass. i bought this as a project bass and will never get around to bringing it back to life. There is sound from the front pickup, although there is lots of noice (earth type). this is a short scale bass. whole length of the bass is just under 39 inches/980mm. The neck is 18"/460mm from nut to end. This is a quirky little think and may suite a collector. this link may be useful. My first bass was one of these. I think I was about the thirtieth person to own it in our school. It only had three tapewound strings but I loved it!

9. First gigging set up was Satellite Jazz Bass into Ohm GB60 combo. Current gigging rig, Overwater Jazz V, Fender Jazz V, and home built Precision Hamm V mutant into SWR1500 head coupled to either two Goliath 4x10's or a Schroeder 21012.
10.
Hey, I'm based in York. I can ship the bass too, or travel to meet you halfway if preffered.
You have a pm!
11. Ooh nice bass, thank the lord it doesnt have five strings otherwise I could have been selling a kidney!
12. Hi Andy, I can add some provenance to the 750x. I bought it from Toasted and I believe that prior to Joe, it was owned by one of the original Bassworld members (might have been Daryll / Profane?). Joe (Toasted) should know and might be able to give you some idea of the age. All I can say is its a cracking head that never let me down in the two years I owned it. And what's with the lightweight gear, I'm still happily lugging your old SM1500 around (although I have now got arms like popeye lol).

Spector Rex

I've spotted a nice five string Spector Rex on the 'bay. Anybody owned one of these who'd be prepared to comment on the good/bad/ugly points? Anybody know what the balance is like, are they any better than a Thunderbird when it comes to neck dive? Comments will be appreciated.
14. Looks very like mine too!
15. I have a 21012 which is an excellent cab and is all I need in my pub rock covers band. Small, light enough not to be a problem with a massive sound. Would be very interested in hearing a 21015. I'd say at that price, go for it.
16. On the JPJ frankenhamm, I have three pickups and a five-way switch. The idea was to build a bass capable of giving both 'P' and 'J' tones at the flick of a switch. After years of playing I realised that I only ever use my J basses with the bridge pickup on full and the neck pickup just backed off a little from full, so one of the switch options has a resistor on the neck pickup which matches the setting on my favourite jazz. With the switch, I am able to adjust from 'P' to 'J' to P+J and a few other combinations as well all at a flick of the switch.

Preamps/DI's

I went through this process about a year ago and settled on the Phil Jones Bass Buddy. Five band eq, big fat warm DI signal, and probably the best compressor I've used. This thing is so musical it beats the legs of preamps ten times as expensive.
18. Nice looking bass, do you still have the covers for the bridge and pickup, I think they were still standard at this age?
19. As a fellow sufferer, I endorse most of whats said above. Mine has improved since I reduced the sugar content in my diet, use antiseptic gel about 8 times a day followed by a good moisturiser (such as E45). Micropore tape is good, and also Germoline New Skin has got me through a few gigs when I've split a finger end on a flight case or similar. Stings a bit, but it lasts about a full set and keeps the dreaded infection out as well.
20. I'll be there again! If its as good as the last one, and it has coffee, it will be perfect!
21.
Bump
Dirk, Face it, its ugly and it isnt going to sell. I'll give you €100 + a packet of malteesers (family size) to take it off your hands. Bliddy gorgeous bass, damn why am I so poor.....
22. Easy one for me, my Schroeder 21012 every time. Light enough that I can lift it on my own when I need to, ballasy enough to keep up with two combo equipped guitarists and a loud drummer. Only wish it was 4ohm and not 8. But for those big rock gigs, going up against 4x12's and a seriously loud drummer, then my two Golly's really come into their own.
23.
For my next trick, I'm going to try pairing my Big One with my new Midget. I'll have the St. John's Ambulance on stand-by ...
