Total Monster...... i'd love to hear that one full tilt through a pair of Golly III's
Well it'll be appearing in exactly that format (although probably not full tilt) through my two Golly's at the Star in Newcastle on Friday 11th or at the Turbinia in Newton Aycliffe on Sat 12th September (not a very subtle pimp eh )
MB1. ...And ive been advertising for a status carbon Graphite neck for a musicman bass all this time in Items Wanted....only to have my Musicman become a Status?????.....Oh Bugger! ....Really Nice Looking build this!
Cheers MB1, Yep the status name is actually inside the layup and underneath the gel coat or whatever the carbon fibre eqivalent of layup is! Well today I finished the back and sides, sanded the top back to bare wood again and restained it. Its still not 100% but I guess its as good as I'm going to get from this particular piece of maple. Tomorrow will be the first coat of cellulose lacquer and then another coat/sand back every night this week should see the body (finally) finished by next weekend. After that, it'll be a case of letting the lacquer harden before final polishing and assembly. Unfortunately, due to the problems I've had with the finish, this wont be ready for my next road trip
Haway Kev..... where's the updates ? Ya been too busy buying Amps
No mate, but I've had a few problems with getting the finish I want which has resulted in two 'sand back to bear wood' episodes on the front. If all goes well, the lacquer will start going on tomorrow and I'll get some more photos up when there is something to show. BTW, that amp is a bit of a monster!
 7. Cheers Andy, Thanks for the deal and the rather excellent coffee. Top bloke, BR Kev

 9. Aphex 1402 Bass Exciter A lot of good stuff was written about this pedal when first released and this is the second one I’ve owned. Dynamic processor with separate controls for the low and high frequencies, similar to Aphex’s rack stuff with their ‘big bottom’ technology. Includes a studio quality DI out on XLR with ground lift and dry/wet switch and active/passive switch. Blurb on the Aphex website says: “For all types of basses with magnetic or piezo pickups, active or passive. Voicing is tailored to deep tone & sustain while adding life to the the bite or slap. Smaller rigs sound big; big rigs sound huge!” Available on the web for £89, yours for £50+pp including original packaging and instructions. Note: Original rubber feet have been removed and Velcro added. Replacement self-adhesive rubber feet are available from Maplins for £1.50 for four. Is also advertised locally and will be on eBay early next week if no interest either here or there before then.
 10. Aphex 1404 Punch Factory Optical Compressor Two knob optical compressor. Works really well with bass, but I understand it works equally as well with guitar. Nothing much more to say other than its very natural and transparent. Includes a studio quality DI out on XLR with ground lift and dry/wet switch and active/passive switch. Blurb from the Aphex website says: “The 1404 gives clean, transparent compression for all instruments, from subtle to extreme amounts of compression without altering your tone or breaking up. Punch through the mix, live or studio, with enhanced tone and total dynamic control.” Available on the web for £90, sadly no original packaging with this one so yours for £40+pp. Note: Original rubber feet have been removed and Velcro added. Replacement self-adhesive rubber feet are available from Maplins for £1.50 for four. Is also advertised locally and will be on eBay early next week if no interest either here or there before then.
 11. Akai Unibass UB1 No longer in production and highly sought after, this bass distortion pedal includes a built-in octaver with octave up. In addition to the higher octave you can also add a lower 4th or upper 5th to the wet signal and you can run the wet distorted octave signal through a separate out with or without the upper 5th / lower 4th, whilst running your clean or dry bass signal through its own output. Blurb from the original Akai website: “You know the feeling - you play in a traditional guitar, bass and drums 3-piece but when the guitarist takes a solo, your band sounds empty. Enter the UB1 UNIBASS. The UB1 allows you to add an octave above whatever you play on your bass to keep the rhythm sound full while your guitarist wails away on lead. You can also add a 5th above (or a 4th below) the octave to retain the feel of guitar 'chords' underpinning your guitarist's deft pyrotechnics. Furthermore, you can add distortion to the harmony to complete the illusion.” Operation is simple. Set the controls as necessary and, at the appropriate moment, engage - your bass will not only drive your band along but it will also generate unison and/or chordal guitar accompaniment filling the hole left by your guitarist's solo.

Add an octave above what you play so you can simulate the sound of bass and guitar playing in octaves
Add a 5th above or a 4th below the octave sound
Powerful distortion for the sound of an overdriven guitar
Seperate outputs allow you to route direct bass signal to a bass amp and effect signal to a guitar amp
Comes with original packaging. No longer available, highly sought after, yours for £150 + PP. Note: Original rubber feet have been removed and Velcro added. Replacement self-adhesive rubber feet are available from Maplins for £1.50 for four. Is also advertised locally and will be on eBay early next week if no interest either here or there before then.
 12. 1Spot Combo Pack 9V power supply with multi-snake connector with 8 standard pedal outlets. Also comes with additional:

2 x 9V battery clip style converters;
2 x 3.5mm Electro-harmonix style converters;
1 x Line 6 style converter. Still in original packaging, Available on the web for £35, yours for £15+PP.
Is also advertised locally and will be on eBay early next week if no interest either here or there before then.
 13.
Hello I am no longer playing in my band and am thinking its a waste having this laying around not being used a lot. I have been playing my new Jap Jazz reissue a hell of a lot and have another 5 string Jazz bass for backup so I am thinking about letting it go. Its a superb bass and many say one of the best passive 5 string basses out there. As you probably know the tonal flexibility is amazing and has so many options for a passive bass. The B is awesome unlike a lot of fenders and the fact I used to tune to B flat and still sound clear is a good indication of the quality. Its in mint condition and I still have the tags etc but not the original case (always kept in a hiscox and would sell with it) I am in no great rush to get rid of this and just wanted to see if there was some interest in it really. I have seen these go for a huge range of prices over the last year or so as I was going to buy a second one. I have seen them go for anything from £600 - £935 in poorer condition than mine. I have no idea what to ask on price, I got this in a trade, so please if you are interested make me an offer via PM I may also be interested in trades for Warwick Streamers (5 strings) MTD 535 (not much chance but worth a try) or Sei Flamboyant or Overwater (not a jazz) Basically something 5 string maybe with 35" scale and active to have a change from jazzes. I dont have access to a camera until monday but maybe Mr_Russ wont mind me linking to his old post for now, as it was once his: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...;hl=roscoe+beck Many Thanks Nathan
Lovely basses and quite sought after, especially the five strings. Quite like the look of them myself but those six string pickups Fender opted for put me off. First time I've seen pickups with the pole pieces between the strings
I would like this, and I'll quite happily give you 78 pence and a packet of pork scratchings for it.
On the one hand they say there's a recession on and then on the other you've got young people splashing irresponsible amounts of money and tasty snacks around for tatty old basses
