How has your day been as a bassist?
Papalampraina replied to charliethornton's topic in General Discussion
I changed the pickup of my Pink Paisley P-bass to an SD QP and I'm a lot happier now. -
Simon was very kind and helpful. Trust him like your own brother (except if you are Thor ) Cheers Simon John

I got a little red Pandora box from Ian and he was a delight to communicate with. Deal without fear, 5thread is a great fellow! Cheers, John.

I never liked that whole "image" thing. I'm a musician. It's like asking for a model to know Chinese medieval history. Why?
Bass players are a bit like cooks anyway, never trust a skinny one
I'm 120kg myself and find this approach non-musical and racist. Really glad my bandmates have the same opinions like me.

I just got today my pre-EB 2-band preamp-in-a-box made by Badger. It's a great build and a sound to match pedal. Also, we reached three pages of pm's. Craftsmanship, communication, the man has them all and he's a top bloke! If anyone wants to deal with Mike, just do it, don't give it a second thought. Cheers, John.

What I have for sale is a Squier Precision with the pickup and pots of a MIJ Aerodyne Precision. Right now it sits at my home all setup and in one piece. I want to sell it in pieces though, because I don't have a case to send it in. Here's the breakdown. Neck from a MIK Squier II made in 1989. Serial number is E980021 and the 9 stands for 1989. It's all maple and it's in excellent condition. Truss rod works great and it's easy as butter to play. Only problem I can think of is, because the head of the tuner is glued to the body, the G tuner is rattling. This doesn't affect tuning though and all four tuners work great. Neck heel width is less than 63.5mm (2.5 inches), like in all Fenders/Squiers now. Must be around 61-62mm. Body is from the new Affinity series, which Fender promotes as alder. I don't have any reason to question that. Some marks and less scratches and one hit right below the input jack (as usual someone dropped it, previous owner, not me). The pickup and the pots are from a MIJ Aerodyne precision and sound very Precision-y. Bridge is stock and nice one. 3 scratchplates to come with it, blue with the peace sign is the one I bought it with and fits exactly. It is hand painted, must have been white me thinks.

Alain sold me an EMG BTC Control. Actually, he replied to a WTB ad I had and restored my faith on that particular forum. Apart from that, he is very kind and communicative. Thanks for the whole deal! John

Since there isn't a topic for Mike, I'll be the one to start it. I've bought a Korg Pitchblack from Mike. Very easy to communicate and a nice fellow! I hope this is the first of a long series of good transactions for Mike. Cheers PS: When he says I'll post it in a bit, he knows what he's talking about. He lives close to the post office.
