Sorry Alex! Didn't mean to misrepresent you sir. Perhaps this will suffice:

ON HOLD: 1970 "blueline" vintage Ampeg SVT

If I recall correctly, Alex at barefaced has talked folks out of the 3x10 setup in the past... Not enough of an improvement over 2x10 to bother. It was something I'd considered in the past myself, but Alex knows his beans so avoided it as soon as I heard he'd expressed his opinion (but open to being corrected by chris_b who has first hand experience!)... The D800 does 2 ohms so why not add a 4 ohm Two10 to your pair of One10s? Ultimate modular setup!

It depends on how you set the tone controls on the OJ, you can make it sound thin or low end heavy, but I was only using a P bass through headphones...

Having built one I wouldn't attempt it without the pre-drilled enclosure. Not the easiest build with stacking PCBs, and it confirmed to me that I'm REALLY picky about compression (PWNZOR being the only one I've really liked that I've owned - carl martin optical thingy was ok). Sold it to @Gareth Hughes of this parish who likes it muchly - more than his original dbx.

Stoking up some Warwick GAS this one! Even been to check out The Gallery website, but not been updated yet...

I have a little Kitsound Hive (not the Hive 2) and it punches well above its weight if you have it on the right sort of surface (has a bottom firing passive radiator that makes a BIG difference to the bass content). Cost me £35 in Sainsbury's sale a couple of years back and it can be had cheaper now (as can the v2 which I haven't heard). Well worth a look in my opinion.

Now that's interesting!

That's a sweet gig! Sounds great... Only question I have is why wouldn't you wear the Santa hat on the BBC1 Live Lounge?

Aww... I like the blind donkey fornicating with a paint pot aesthetic!

Love seeing so many DIY pedals on a board. Been promising myself I'll do a lot more DIY (pedals that is!) in the new year...

@dood has had hands on one I believe...

If this is anything like the Tecamp Puma 212 it'll be awesome. Best combo ever IMHO... and I sold it like a moron...

Insane one-man Rush tribute (not that one!)
Bigwan replied to wateroftyne's topic in General Discussion
Even sounds like Geddy's voice to one of the great unwashed like me (never really listened to more than a few Rush tunes). Brilliant! -
That's a great picture!

Location/Venue: Ulster Schools drama "thing". Outdoors at Stranmillis College in Belfast, scorching hot day in June '92. Lots of unfamiliar young ladies from other schools running around...Your age: 15Your bass: Sunn Mustang (pointy headstock p-bass thing)Your amp: Vantage 30wThe set list (some of it): Some originals, a few Metallica covers. Camcorder footage of it was recently discovered. Really not good.

More and more lovely!

That little H&K looks nice but not sure, without having played one, how good it would be for bass (more thinking the gain structure than anything)... I know that the little Epiphone Valve Jr/Harley Benton HB5 amps are supposed to be quite usable with a bass cab...

Funny my only concern with owning a short scale bass was for the same reason. But look at guys like Pino or Dave Swift who are SO tall they make normal scale basses look like toys! Would you let it put you off playing a guitar?
