  1. Pa ha ha ha ha ha ha, haha haha haha haha, hehe, haha ha ha... Haha... Ha... Ha... No, but seriously Ashdown, what's the real price?
  2. While that Lehle sounds nice, I'm not hearing anything I couldn't do with my Hartke Bass Attack and hand position/pickup pan.
  3. Well if we're going down the line of chemical burns... Silver nitrate to the nethers when you've infected vasectomy wounds is right up there! Edit: I took it too far, didn't I? I could hear the virtual sharp intake of breath from you all....
  4. Ouch! Never had a nail, but did have a nasty thorn incident... Slightly off this off topic discussion (sorry OP!) I also once stood on the blunt end of a darning needle my mother had dropped on the carpet and assumed it would "turn up"... Which it did, and embedded a full 1/2" into the bottom of my right foot...
  5. Awesome! I had my first pair so long I wore a hole through the sole...
  6. Great work! Now I've seen them I'm not sure I can... But then I wear Crocs around the house so what do I know!
  7. These are first class amps...
  8. I had been perving over that just the other day...
  9. Alas it can only be talk at the minute Mike!
  10. Agh! So much want!
  11. Exactly what I was thinking... I was interested until I saw how ham-fisted the matching up of the body and neck were. I'll reserve judgement until I see one in the flesh, but in that picture looks awful if you look at how the center block of the body transitions into the neck...
  12. The 2405w is 6mm wider than the 2605 at the 24th fret according to the spec sheets for the 2 basses...
  13. Any users here? Just looking for your thoughts. I'm pretty heavily invested in Ezdrummer 2, but I like what I've heard from GGD Modern and Massive...
  14. Strum Machine was what sparked my interest too!
  15. Plugin boutique are doing AAS Session Bundle free with any purchase. No idea what the bundle is like, but worth a punt at £1 for a well reviewed soft synth!
  16. If only I could find that sort of deal locally! Edit: Just won a 61 key Launchkey for £47 plus slightly extortionate postage on ebay!
  17. ...Damnit @Woodinblack! The Roli Songmaker Kit Garageband Edition is looking REALLY good right now...
  18. While the seaboard block would be WAY beyond what I'd be looking for, the lightpad block looks VERY interesting!
  19. Thanks for the suggestions guys! I like the look of the novation and the nektar - I'll look into those in more detail. I think the lack of pads on the roland might be a deal breaker at this point - I'm not adept enough with a keyboard to enter drums that way! I had considered the irig previously but, again, no pads. And I'm not sure 37 keys is enough of an upgrade over my Akai...
  20. Hi folks, As I delve deeper into the world of home recording it's becoming obvious I could really do with something a bit less dimensionally challenged than my current 25 key Mk1 Akai MPK mini. Can anyone recommend a 49 or 61 key midi controller keyboard that won't break the bank? Preferably with drum pads as I quite like the idea of them on the MPK (more on that in a minute). Reviews suggest key feel can vary widely from one manufacturer to another, but having never played keys in the past I don't think I'm attuned enough to tell a good key bed from a bad one! However I'm not a fan of the drum pads on my Akai so an improvement on that front wouldn't go amiss. I'm using Garageband on a macbook pro if that's of any consequence.
  21. Best: ACG Recurve 0178 Worst: Beneath the bassline... Pointless, rambling drivel...
  22. It looks like somebody has bandsawn the control cavity off a Wal and stuck it on this quite unceremoniously...
  23. I saw Tesseract a few weeks back. Clean, controlled, brutal, crushing, aggressive, trippy, beautiful Tesseract. To my shame I actually uttered the phrase "slappin' da bass"... In my defence I had a few too many jars...
  24. Ashdown ABM, all day every day. I prefer the earlier, non-EVO version myself, but I haven't tried anything after the EVOIII. They're plentiful, and cheap as a cheap thing.
  25. I'm still kicking myself for not buying a classic 50's in cash converters for 350 quid a few years back. Great basses. Proper angry growl off them when you want it. Word of advice. If you like any of the basses mentioned in this thread, do NOT try the new Fender Original 50s P bass series. Your wallet will thank me. SO good...
