2. [s]For sale (or possibly trade) my 2010 Fender USA Std Precision in black / maple. Bought from Lozz on here earlier this year but now supplanted by a 70's p (I loved the p sound so much that I boughtn old one!) This bass is in great condition, plays and sounds superb, All my band's current demo tracks were recorded with this straight into my orange stack and the room mic'd, nothing else added or taken away! have a listen to it on soundcloud (links in my sig), it just fills that space for bass so nicely. I know Fender can be a bit hit an dmiss at times but this is a good one! It currently has labella flats (45-105) on it and it thumps majestically! Comes with SKB Fender branded hard-case, and full case-candy including tags. I weighed it recently to compare it with the 70's p I've got and it was a shade under 4kg (so a tad under 9lbs). I'd like to get back what it cost me so that's £650 collected. Bank transfer or paypal gift is fine & dandy with me, cash on collection would also be rather nice Happy to ship at buyers cost, I'm sure I can find a box from somewhere I'm going to borrow Lozz's photos for now until I can get some of my own (hope you don't mind buddy?) 3. this is almost museum quality, so shiny wish I had the brass for this
 4.
Oxford
pm'd for more info
 5.
10s are better for monitoring IMO as you want lots of middle to get the vocals to really cut through on stage. Most 10s are stronger in the mid range. We generally cut a lot of low end from monitors as it tends to muddy things on stage a little and you can crank the speakers a bit more then.
good info bud
 6.
Looks like a bargain to me - just dive on in! And, as for size, if I wanted to monitor kick through it, I'd want a really beefy 15" unit which, even then, would be a bit wimpy. But for monitoring vox & acoustic... My ART 710s will fill a pretty big space!
cheers buddy, info passed to the keeper of the pursey
 7.
Not used the Alto stuff, but know quite a few who have - they're regarded as the bargain of the century. Not necessarily as good as the higher end models - especially in output, but stupic value for the money. Monitor angle mode looks fine. In fact better than on my ART 710s where it can get a little tight with the IEC & XLR connection. Fair enough if it's for FOH, but for mons, it's far more about getting enough of it in your face!
quality - fair enough mon angle - groovy 10" over 12" I get your point matey, might try the 10" option first...oo how cheap are they from Maplin!! £180!!! is that right?
 8.
At the absolute bargain end, but still well regarded, is the Alto TS110A (£220). A little down on max SPL, but quite likely to be enough for the job - and *cheap*!
oo cheers matey! have you used the alto stuff laid down as a wedge monitor or would it need to be upright? I'd be tempted to try the ts112a as I like the leetle bit extra oomph you get with a slightly larger driver, bit warmer sounding too
 9.
Trade a boss dd20 for sft?
tempting, whereabouts are you matey?
 10. how can it be right that a USA P bass is still here at and at only £500! dude, the market is shocking just now!!
 11. we're currently borrowing a yamaha DXR10 which is pretty good but we need to buy our own to take out and about with us and this one lives in our practise space... I'm wondering whether there's anything else out there that we should be considering that will do the same kind of job (but might be a tad cheaper)...it just has acoustic guitar and vocals through it for the drummer to hear and sing with, needs to be loud enough for a drum monitor but nothing bonkers! This is what we're currently using: http://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/proaudio/speakers/dxr/dxr10/?mode=model the site reckons it's a 700w speaker that can handle 56hz-20khz it does sound pretty good for what we're using it for, my preference would be for a 12" rather than 10" speaker for a bit more 'body' in the sound but...what's about folks? and what do you use? ta
 12. holy smokes that's just sublime!
 13. hhmmm, regret sellling - I had a really lovely USA J natural/maple in the late nineties that I got new, around the time they started rolling the fingerboard edges, it smelled and sounded lovely, I didn't keep it long as I couldn't get on with the feel of it, stupid thing was if I'd known to get a good set-up on it it would have probably been a keeper ah the folly of youth If i could have it back now I would!! glad to be shut of - none really, they've all been interesting waypoints on the journey towards working out what kinds of sound I like to make or what sounds I need to make for a particular project...I've had some cheap basses but they all fit a particular bill at the time...I have discovered a few things though... I'm not keen on Rickenbackers, they're just not my bag baby, I don't really like the sound of G&L, I've had a couple and I love love the feel and build quality of them but there's something grating in the top end that I loathe though, I could get one and change all the electrics Isuppose...hhmmm that sounds like a goooood idea I don't like status very much, the 'sound of graphite' doesn't do it for me, ...other stuff I've had, I'd probably have again if it suited what I needed at the time.
 14. someone round here was looking for a stumpy scale bass...have you tried searching the wanted section? here you go...ACG pics linked
 15.
How did this situation arise? Did you take your bass next door and say, 'phwoar, have a feel of that then!' or what?
I can imagine that scenario occurring Looks awesome now matey btw
 16.

bummed for you dude, we need to hope for a miraculous result in the housing thing so you can buy it
 17.
http://thesharrow.bandcamp.com/ Think you can listen to the whole EP on there.
oo nice, needs a proper listen methinks but I likey where did you record?
 18.
Damn you Mr C we are now in a price war with 75 P's
there's a very different degree of shinyness between the two though matey
 19.
Now £1,300 including UK Shipping.
ooof! I need to weedle her indoors this weekend, that's a tasty price for the perfect colour!
 20.
Haha, we were meant to be playing Skintfest in Chesterfield last year, had it booked in six months in advance. Guitarist books his holiday to start that day... the absolute genius that he is.
hhmmm, there's a pattern here... as an aside, you got any links to your music tings so I can have a listen/watch etc?
 21. oo cool! we were offered a slot in the Green Room but our guitarist is on holiday this week
 22.
This is pretty much exactly what I'm looking to do, but I might stick with rounds on this bass and just use foam to mute the strings, maybe anyway. John has actually PM'd me this morning so I'll be talking with the man himself about the wiring kit
John's a star! super helpful and very very efficient! Foam under the strings, I've done this before an dth eeffect is good, try to make sure the foam isn't too thick that it raises the strings though as it'll pull you out of tune a bit...I found that a cut up cotbed mattress provided good foam for 'that motown sound' I think I've still got some in my drawer at home...
