1. sorry I'm being dumb but I forgot which model of hipshot goes on my jap fenders, specifically the geddy lee, is it the bt2 or the bt7? I need to know so I can tell santa!
2. I was so gutted to sell it as soon as I could I bought the same bass again, and I still have it!
3. Is that my old one?
4. Welcome to the family dude. Who knows, maybe that first bass could be presented by moi! Lol
5. Will sell for £400 (without detuner), no less, collected. If I absolutely have to post it would have to be with neck off after receipt of cleared funds. Gutted this is taking so long it's such a great bass. There has been interest but no takers yet.
6. Strangely my fave compressor for bass is the unmodded boss cs3! I've had most of the others, still fancy trying the bbe but so far I always go back to the boss.
7. Yeah, my rig is only noisy at home, but it drives me round the bend!
8. i think its a guild but dunno what model, my local shop has one in
9. Funnily enough the same thing happened to me recently after something like 17 years playing and I'm not normally a timing case (a few live recordings in the wooden toys link in my sig not too bad timing I hope) but just lately my timing sucks!! I listened back to a take and was mortified, dunno what's happened to me. That said When I redid the take I turned the bass down in the cans which really helped. I think was zoning on too much on the bass rather than the bass In relation to the track. I always say bass is easy to play, but it's hard to play well!
10.
If you haven't used a Bass Xciter, gentle reader, then for £30 I'm happy to recommend you try one. Not suitable for metally / thrashy / punky stuff (IMO) but superb for blues / jazz / classic rock. No money changed hands in connection with this product endorsement.
And soon will be mine muhahaha (as soon as I get out the bath...iPhones rock!)
11.
just power by batterys or use a decent power supply to filter out any electrical interference
I'm using a gator gbus but I get noise with or without fx through headphones or amp and on all basses unless I touch metal and even then there is still some noise. I shielded all my basses which helped but still buzzy.
12. My house is really buzzy, im sure its to do with dimmer switches and crappy wiring im sure some of the noise is airbourne, would one of these stand any sort of a chance?
13. That is the one thing more than anything else in the world that makes me soooooooo angry! It's mainly old school pillocks who trot out that 'feel the bass' tat. I was recently mixed by someone who had once announced to me that the bass should be "below the drums right at the bottom of the track". It really bites my monkey.
14. Just sold jake an ashtray use it wisely! No probs with this guy happy times one and all!
15. I do enjoy it, but have found I let myself get sorta labelled as the really fast slap guy, and now I'm getting older I'm really enjoying more groove, but have found the label can be hard to shift. That said I do some pretty average and predictable octave slapping on a song in my funk band 'useless wooden toys' so maybe not as cured as I think I am..
16. Top buyer sold him my ray with much regret, a flying visit but a safe bet and a top bloke.
17. it does imddedy, for tis a proper one innit, pics eventually lol,
18. no sorry
19. sorry dude that would leave the body rather hard to shift
20. I love this colour I had planned to build one from warmoth but it's still really exensive. Roughly how much would o e of those jazzes go for may I ask. I über skint at the mo but still hold a secret plan to build one over a few years using Xmas and bday money as I'm assuming it's still gonna be cheaper than a real one!
21. thanks dude no interest yet so lookng likely!
