1. I think Ishibashi have been stopeed selling new Fender Japan basses to the UK, i have owned several and have three at the mo, i totally love em and would recommend em to anyone, very high build quality and the tone and feel are spot on.
2. Ive also been lucky enough to do a few big 'uns, Birmingham Symphony Hall was big, and the SECC in Glasgow. in terms of coolness Hammersmith Apollo was pretty smart, and the Run To The Sun festival in Newquay. The smallest was legendary place in a smal town called Lutterworth near Leicester called the Hind, not much bigger than a snooker table but regularly full of shirtless sweaty teens tripping over you as you played, good times!
3. great sounding basses, wish i could buy another id so take it.
4. Prince was my 1st thought, the bass centre had one of his white ones up some time ago
5. I agree with everything he said, and they look ace too!, might be selling mine in the next fortnight, i waited and saved sooo hard and long to get it im not sure i can bring myself to part with it yet, but im on a real block marker neck thang at the mo so i havnt decided. Great things though.
6. about what id figured, thanks guys, now to ponder......
7. This is NOT a veiled for sale ad as the neck is still very much attached and in use, but.... If i decide to remove my pretty much mint status graphite neck from my jazz (its fitted with fretfx lights too!) does anyone have a clue what i should be asking for it? (sans tuners) It cost about a zillion pounds to buy and have fitted, but i know with the credit (cough-recession) crunch is probably worth about 7p now. Its only about twoish years old.
8. Its plastic, thanks guys, im a bit worried that the body may have faded apart from under the sticker, and of course theres no way to tell until its off, that said i could take the pickguard off and see if the colour under there is different
9. About eight yeats ago i stuck this sticker on my MIJ 62ri jazz and now i think ill remove it, but im worried that ill either damage the finish or there will be a dark patch? Anyone done this? heres the sticker:
10. Hey dude, i ve got the boss TU2 but find it sometimes a tad erratic and it used to ignore the low B on my old sixers, if i could afford it id be all over the strobostomp, but on the whole im still pleased with the boss tu2.
11. Ive got a black sparkle piezo ray, and ive never used the piezo either, sounds fine and very acoustic bass like, but thats not why i bought it!, a stunning bass though.
12. My 75ri got preamped and new pups etc, and then a week later all back out, sounds much nice just passive! and my trust old blue 62ri had a graphite neck, emgs and a j retro and now sounds nice without the pre, but still too 'sterile' so im trying to decide between changing the pups or the neck...actually any thoughts on that would be great...which to ditch graphite or emgs?
13. My dunlop bass wah distorts heavily when used before my new zoom b2.1 using my clean with corus, slightly mid boosted patch, but this didnt happen with my old zoom 506..any thoughts?, this particular sound is kinda a trademark so id go back to the 506 before i had t opart with it, but obviously id like to stick with my new toy if i can! Also is there any way to use the foot pedal on the b2.1 as a normal stand alone wah, instead of the more treble/less treble on a filter which seems to be what happens when i have tried to set up a clean channel with nothing but pedal wah?
14. Boss CE2 as seen in this months guitar buyer magazines 'pawn stars' section, just a lovely sounding pedal, nice and quiet too. Flattens the EBS imho, and everything else ive ever tried apart from the very rare amdek chk-100
15. Thanks i guess it has drums too?
Yep, love my VXL too. Bit of a flawed masterpiece really, the knobs are absolutely crap onstage, who in hell wants mirrored knobs with a tiny black dot on when you're under stage lighting?? Useless. Also the pre/post switch has no indication which is in and which is out when the other switches do so I keep forgetting and have to carry the manual around with me. Still love it though
Yup i have changed the knobs and put a bit of tape over my pre/post switch with IN written on to remind me!, but its so good its worth it, a truly great sounding pedal.
17. I need something that my guitarist can use to record new ideas and email em to me to hear, but really cheap and simple, i was wondering of the zoom G2 would be something he could use ? he'll need some kind of rhythm guide drum thing built in, is the Zoom and its cubase software a good idea?
18. Ive had the shoulder strap on theie rockbass bass bags go on me twice, once dumping my bass headfirst down a flight of stairs, luckily it was the ray so no harm done, but the stairs were trashed hehheh
19. bridge pickup for me, thats what pickups are for isnt it? ^_^
20. I get the same thing, or i try to DI from my VXL and they insist i use a house behringer DI!? WTF!! I think its laziness and fear of something different which means they may have to think instead of just doing the same as every other night
