  1. Ohm on the range.
  2. I plead not guilty to that. That was the current Mrs Zero's, as I'd left mine at my house along with the former Mrs Zero.
  3. The body is lovely, not so keen on the fretboard or the pickups - I think I'd describe them as fussy.
  4. I like them too. My opinion may be coloured by the fact I love my Antoniotsai which has a distinct Ritter homage feel to it, even to the slopey pickups. I bought it in 2007, at which point I'd never heard of Ritter.
  5. I think it's lovely. I shall resist the temptation to ask about a 5-string version. No, really, I will.
  6. I'll be up for 2023. I'm sure I've got everything I want...
  7. It is very impressive, and looks to have a good intuitive workflow. I'm definitely not the target audience though, it has far more capability than I would or could ever make use of.
  8. White spirit is another one to try, and meths (remember - white spirit with chicken, meths with red meat). Do not use acetone. It's rather too good a solvent.
  9. Sold, for a mere £4124. I occasionally watch bits of those programmes where people sell stuff in auctions, and when something goes for about 20 times the estimate, I wish that the presenters would chase down the buyers and ask them what they knew that made them pay so much. Has somebody realised that this is a rare instrument made in Cremona in the 18th century, or are they just deluded?
  10. Ah, I know what it reminds me of:
  11. When you say 2 x 8 ohm outputs, do you mean two speaker outputs each with a minimum 4 ohm load but with a minimum 4 ohm load overall, or do you mean two outputs each of which have a minimum 8 ohm load? If the former, you'll get the full whack from one output driving a 4 ohm cab, unless it's an Ashdown Superfly with two separate 250W power amp modules. If the latter, you'll simply blow it up if you connect the cab to the amp, regardless of how many cables you use.
  12. That's why I prefer headless basses, then you only stick it in the singer's ear if you really mean to.
  13. My Esh Poseidon V has been stuck in a cupboard for some time. I really must dig it out and give it a little love.
  14. Arduino Pro Micro does USB OTG. There's a hack for ESP32 too - https://hackaday.io/project/178213-esp32-usb-software-host
  15. Arduino? ESP32? They'll do analogue reads. The ESP32 is ridiculously comprehensive (includes wireless and bluetooth) and well under a tenner.
  16. Pros of onboard: To quote an old motoring cliche, the controls fall easily to hand with an onboard preamp. There should be less of an issue with stray noise (although shielded cables keep that down anyway. Pros of outboard: if you don't like it, you don't have to start dismantling things to change it. You can always have both, of course.
  17. Lesson 2. If you're going to give a link to a video to try to justify what you've done, make sure the video isn't private. I can't remember any pictures of Pino with a reverse-headstock bass, as it happens.
  18. If you should decide that Bluetooth would be a good idea after all because you don't need USB cables, I did do a Bluetooth page turner which would do page up/down, line up/down, and switch between windows.
  19. The Pro Micro can also be used - I've got one set up as a mouse jiggler.
  20. Gumtree, Facebook, Bandmix (although you have to pay to contact them on Bandmix).
  21. The comparison between the two of them may be seen by analogy in Thunderbirds, series 2 episode 2, in which a nuclear powered logging machine with doors that can only be opened from the inside and an incredibly long and complex shutdown sequence runs out of control. MDP is the one who would come up with the idea for it and can'trememberhisname is the one who would build it. MDP's handiwork (search ebay for "perfect balance bass"):
  22. It's got impressive capabilities but, as has been said, it's a niche product. It may be easy to use, but for simple control, it's easy and far cheaper to make your own or, failing that, go for a Morningstar. If you're sending a sequence of MIDI commands, wouldn't a MIDI sequencer suffice? Can't comment on the LFO side of things, that's not something I've ever done with MIDI.
  23. I always do. Got to keep the testers on their toes.
  24. That's the book that caused me to use this username.
  25. 🙂
