1.
The prices Bass Direct are asking seem a bit over the top.
The difficulty of a direct-to-customer manufacturer selling thru a retailer. Bass Direct have to pay 20% VAT plus overheads (rent, wages, utilities etc.) & make a profit. If we buy direct from Public Peace some of those elements are removed. I was very fortunate to buy mine recently from a fellow BC-er. I thought the red-burst one Bass Direct have in stock was competitively priced given all of the above & the current exchange rate situation.
2. Looks like Bass Direct in Warwick are getting a regular supply of these now. 2 more arrived yesterday. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MARUSZCZYK_INSTRUMENTS.html
3. Agreed Andy. Real 'marmite' stuff, but I love marmite 😉 Lovely bass tho', lightweight & the Demeter pre-amp produced some kubicki type tones. Very 'zingy' top end.
4. Yep that was mine. The price has gone up a few quid! Wonder if they are the same strings I had on it? Funny thing - when I was selling it I took it along to Mark at Bass Direct. I was amazed when he said "never heard of them." Haven't held it against him though! 😂
5. Their in-ear headphones are excellent & these new isolation ear-plugs were subscribed many times over on their Kickstarter campaign. I didn't buy them, but may well pick up a pair. Reviews are first rate from what I've read so far.
6.
Wow...just wow
THIS! 👏👏👏
7.
Thanks to Mark for putting this event (and the recent Norm Stockton one) on.
Seconded! Great to see top bass players up close and personal
8. I'm going there this evening to see Jeff Berlin doing a bass clinic. No charge as usual.
9. Not sure if he will chime in, but have a word with with Basschat user thebrig - he had several varying bodies with Status necks that he'd made himself - looked luverly!!
10. I saw this bass earlier today & it's in stunning condition. I would've said brand new at first glance never mind 41 years old! The sunburst is also a lot richer in the flesh than the photos suggest. Brian's a top bloke. Honest, reputable seller. GLWTS!
11. I can smell the nastee funk coming off that bass! Cream top and cream pups - top notch!!

13. Who did the paint job & ballpark price? Pearl plate for my preference 😉
14.
I'll keep you both in mind - ta!
15.
Hey gang The Red Fighter head is currently down in Berkshire (Bracknell / Farnborough-ish) - would anyone local to there like to babysit it for a bit, just for fun? Let me know if you do...
If it works its way north via Warwick I'll give her a warm welcome!
16. "50% of what you spend on advertising is wasted - trouble is you don't know which 50%" Don't know which marketing guru said that, but it's very true
17. Wow, just looked at those Backlund basses & they start at $3750 before any added options! Blimey!! Think I'll go for a Jow bass 😉

I think the only LB-100 in the country is this one! http://greatbritishbasslounge.com/product/gl-lb-100/
19. Well, as the original suggestion for sonic blue with tort guard was mine & now there may be the possibility of a jazz neck then I'm more than just interested. Dots or block inlays on the neck?
20. Ooh indeed. Suits you sir, yes you sir. Ooh oooohhhh 😙
21. Love it. the surf colour sounds cool. How about a nice sonic blue with either a tort or mint guard? Mmmmmm..
