  2. Hi, thanks for looking. For sale here is my 1975/76 Fender Precision Bass. Serial Number denotes a 1975 bass. The pot dates show 1976. We presume the bass was made in 1975 and the electronics made it into the bass in 1976. 43mm nut width 9 pounds in weight Large 'TV' logo Plenty of 'mojo' Strung with (I believe Roto Sound) flat strings It's a great playing & sounding vintage P bass. Pros 1975/6 Fender P Bass All original parts - Body, Neck, Pick Ups, Pots, Pickguard, Bridge, Tuners, Strap buttons & pickup covers Decent weight Original Case (tatty, no keys) Cons Small prang to rear of neck - infilled and not invisible but doesn't affect playing Refretted (unknown luthier) New nut (done by The Bass Gallery) Bridge end strap button re-fitted (done by The Bass Gallery) Case is heavily worn and marked though all the clasps work as they should (no keys however) Previously owned by @AndyTravis and @bouvier from these parts and some of their pics have been used, with permission (thanks chaps).
  3. What a looker! Not for me but GLWTS @walshy
  4. @Kaiser_QTT What make & model are the power supply mounting brackets for please?
  5. I used to use these at the now long gone Survival Studios with 2 matching 1x15" cabs. What a glorious sound they made! GLWTS
  6. Guns N Roses for me - Appetite For Destruction to Use Your Illusion with all the tours. That would put hairs on your chest!
  7. Hi All, Now sold, thanks for looking. SA450 amp highlights: 300W at 8 Ohm, 500W at 4 Ohm, 'Low Mid' and 'High Mid' sweepable frequency controls (located above the level controls), VLE and VLF filters, 2 Speakon outputs. From the Markbass website: What do the VLE and VPF filters do? The VLE and VPF are useful EQ filters that help you adapt your sound for different styles of music. The VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) is a shelf EQ that cuts a wider and wider range of high frequencies as you turn it up. Markbass amps are very clear-sounding, and this filter has the effect of drawing you into the mix more, making your sound less present. It's kind of like an "old school" knob! The VPF (Variable Preshape Filter) boosts lows and highs, and cuts mids. Some call this kind of effect a scoop, a smiley-shape EQ, or an enhance knob. It's very effective for slap bass, pick playing, and driving eighth-note rock. These two filters can be combined for interesting effects. But remember that they are off when they are all the way counterclockwise--we suggest you start in that position and turn the filters up gradually, one at a time, to hear and understand what they do.
  8. I met Abe Jr once and he is a nice guy as well. Interesting fact - He played on Duff McKagan's solo album that never made it to release!
  9. Hi Terry, I haven't noticed a hum but I tend to run both pickups on full and I haven't used it in any other locations other than home! I'll investigate more and get back to you ASAP.
  10. Hi Terry, I don’t I’m afraid. Is there an easy way to tell without dismantling it do you know?
  11. To add, you won't need a bass specific unit if it's a passive version. That's more for active DIs. As long as it's well made and with quality transformers it will do what you require. For example here is a high end active DI: Avalon U5
  12. This would be a good shout: Palmer Passive DI Box A good, solid & passive DI box is a great tool to have in the bag!
  13. @Sibob - I owned it for a while. Bought it from @Oldman (who bought it new from Classic & Cool Guitars) and I sold it to @paddybass who I think has bumped it on since 😆 I'm guessing one of us can help you!
  14. So here it is, one of the rarest OE products - the Cali76 TX-LP compressor with a Lundahl output transformer. Complete with a 'Dry Level' control for parallel compression (which thickens up the sound dialed in correctly) and a switchable clean boost (with level control +2 to +8 dB) as well.
  15. Hi All, Now sold and thanks for looking. Here’s my very good condition VT Bass Deluxe with velcro on the bottom, but no box or paperwork I'm afraid. Please see the pics. Now discontinued and here's Tech21's description: "The Deluxe version of the SansAmp VT Bass features a combination of a warm, all-analog signal path and convenient digital recall. There are 6 program locations and dual inputs for two instruments to be on-line, ready to go. Create three custom tones for each input or use all six locations for a single instrument. And you can program the FX loop to engage your favorite effect each time a so-designated preset is selected. Super simple to operate, changes can easily be made on the fly –without having to refer to the owner’s manual. You just turn the knobs to a setting you like, double click on a footswitch and it’s saved in that channel. You can custom tweak and program six of your personal sounds, from vintage clean to gnarly overdrive to crushing distortion." Webpage - Click here Manual link - Click here Cheers, Jon
  16. Hi All, I hope you're well and thanks for looking. This bass is now withdrawn from sale and the info left up for posterity! 2006 Sadowsky MS5 bass, Made in Japan. Weighing in at 8.8 pounds / 4 KGs on my portable luggage scales. I bought it in from Bass Direct back in December 2020 and it is a stunning bass with a maple neck, an upgraded VTC circuit, nice weight and really well set up. It comes with the older rectangular 'soft-hard' case. Thanks, Jon
  17. Wow - that bass has lived! A genuine relic at a great weight. I'm too skint but GLWTS Walshy
  18. I bought OJ's Sadowsky onboard preamp off him and it was a fast and easy deal. Thanks OJ and to echo the others replies, a great BC'er to deal with. Cheers, Jon
  19. @Shaggy LOL, take away the 'Ninja' and it does the other bit and quite a tasty boost if I do say so myself!
