2.
I had to apply for a certificate as an importer. This could not be done before Warmoth had sorted an export certificate. I am currently waiting for my certificate. I shall post back when everything has been done.
Wow, OK and thanks for the update. Good luck and look forward to hearing all about it! Cheers, Jon
 3.
I don't know - I shall have the neck sent to me here in Sweden (I had planned on having it sent to the UK). Both the UK and Sweden say that you need to apply for a certificate. But again...information is conflicting. I shall call the relevant authorities here.
Hi JimBob, A bit of a thread resurrection here but how did you get on with your Warmoth CITES import situation in the end please? ATB, Jon

 8. Does anyone have a Tech 21 VT Bass 500 amp they can bring along for a listen please?
 9.
No intention to argue. It's like the government wants to charge to breath air. No idea who IFCOM are but reckon it's an agency that had the electromagnetic field pattended.
I get your point SH73 but working in the field I can only say we are spoiled by having OFCOM managing radio spectrum for us. In the EU and especially the USA it's a very different story in terms of time & cost implications trying to clear frequency space to use. IMO&E the charge for the Channel 38 license is well worth it knowing you're good to go, interference free (from Freeview, 4G, etc), UK wide. I guess this is where the 2.4 GHz equipment neatly caters for those that don't want to pay for a license and where it doesn't matter e.g. jamming at home.
 10.
Reading back, I don't think anybody has mentioned 823-832 and 1785-1805 that are now included in the 606-614 shared mic license (as of March 2015)
Good call EBS_freak, I'll update the OP.
 11.
Predictive text. If I played with wireless system at home, surely the licence law does not apply. Or does it?
Ha ha, fair enough! If you're transmitting lower than 862 MHz then legally you need a licence of some kind, regardless. Cheers, Jon
 12.
Surely if I play at home wireless know will ever know?
?
 13.
Photos from my dad will hopefully be forthcoming this Sunday. Although my the time I get to upload them, probably be that I send them around on Monday Si
Thanks for the update Si and looking forward to seeing them!
 14. +1 to all this!
Many thanks to everyone for a great afternoon out! Looking at basses - check! Playing basses - check! Watching other people play basses - check! Talking about basses - check! Listening to other people talk about basses - check! Cake - check! Friendly faces all round - check! You pulled off another blinder Mick... bloody well done!
15.
Thanks Jon. Are we talking old Shure, Sennheiser, Trantec etc rather than the cheap new ones n EBay?
Yes, that stuff is all good. I'm not sure of any newer VHF stuff but I have heard that there's digital systems being developed in the VHF range so that will be an interesting development.
 16.
With the plethora of UHF mics on 863-865 and 2.4Ghz, are the free VHF bands now less crowded with less interference? Is the equipment good enough?
Hi Chienmortbb, If you can find some good quality gear there's nothing wrong with VHF at all. The only downside is that you can only use 3, possibly 4, frequencies at once in the available RF spectrum. ATB, Jon
 17. Nice set up Rob. Is the amp a 230V version can clarify please? ATB Jon
 18. Yes, more visible would be good Dood. That QSC amp looks great. If/when I am going to go for one I'll check out all the options I think!
 19.
Issues 35 and 36 are now on! 130+ gear reviews as it stands!
Flippin' 'eck Dood, had no idea this treasure trove was sitting there! Well done. Just had a quick butchers at the Matrix GT1600FX review. Are you still liking it? It's a lot of bang-for-buck on paper. Cheers, Jon
 20.
13, i got the Lars question wrong
Exactly the same here - 13/14 with the Lars question wrong!!!
 21.
I've just been asked to make a cable for a Takstar WGV-601 wireless system ( http://www.amazon.co...M/dp/B006AZDN3A) which seems to be sold by Amazon for about £50, and on Ebay from the Far East. The spec says that it operates in the 220MHz-270MHz band. Surely this is not legal in the UK?
Hi Dave, Sorry to be late to the party but you're right - That kit isn't freely usable legally but there seems to be a window of 224.00625 - 224.49375 MHz that could be licensed from OFCOM on a non-interference basis. 22. I traded some gear with Graham today and it was a very smooth deal. As mentioned above he's a top bloke and a recommended BC'er to deal with.
 23.
I ordered one from Warmoth. Their's are great as it comes down a little bit more south (towards the bridge), so you can get the P pup in the same place as on a Precision. I had a regular jazz with P rout guard before that but the P pup was too far north and sounded too wooly. The Warmoth pickguard was the only one that I could find that actually has the P rout in the sweetspot, basically.
+1 for Warmoth or give Martin a call/email at Sims Custom Shop in Kent
 24. I still have the eternal Wal Mk.1 fretted 4 GAS but the most recent do-able GAS is for: Tech21 VT Bass 500 amp with a Barefaced Retro Two10 cab
